And he'll have the off-season to improve his game. And that film can work both ways. He can see and be taught where his deficiencies lie with that film as well. I think he showed enough this season to give me confidence in him being good enough to lead this team. Aikman wasn't a sensation after his first season either.

Glad you posted this, that was my first thoughts. Kept me from reading everything, in my limited time at lunch.

He prepared last off season as back up, with potential playing time. He will prepare this year as starter / incumbent with competition. Should make a difference for the better.

jbz64..your wrong..romo was missing throws down the stretch, that he was making when he was on a roll, his accuracy started to go late in the season..basically the magic he had was slipping..this guy was making plays on the move with ease when he first started, but as time went on it got harder and harder..

so swammi, what should we do,?possibly lure away Cambell!?

I love the "film" argument.

There is film on every player in this league.

Did teams just ignore all the preseason film? Romo threw more passes than any QB in the league in the preseason. Does that not count?

Fact is that a lack of film is not what gave opposing defenses problems with Romo.

The one I like is defense figured if you get pressure in his face? I have yet to see any QB not have a problem with getting pressure in his face. Only issue I have with Romo at this stage is how he failed to protect the ball late in the season. He has to do a better job of getting rid of the ball or running with it when nothing is there. He did a good job of this when he 1st took over but seem to get a bit sloppy towards the end. Myself I'm firmly in his corner and look forward to seeing him progress as a QB for this team

You wouldn't know it by reading this forum, but alot of Cowboy fans hated the Romo decision. That number actually grew towards the end of the year.

Romo was actually getting booed at Texas Stadium the last two games. In reality, its probably more than half of the Cowboys fans now that dont think Romo is going to make it.

Most of the rest of the NFL agrees.

You must live in a parallel universe, or you're just severely ********. Either way, you should do the world a favor and drive off a cliff.

Just kidding, you're my pal.

this is just my 2 cents on romo, for just a moment forget im a skins fan..romo will be put to the test next season, there is now alot of film on this guy on what he does well and what he doesnt..as the season went on teams started to take away what he does best, you guys and the league will know the true romo after next season..this guy took the league by storm, racking up big numbers, only because teams didnt know his game...NOW THEY DO!!!..the real romo will show next season, good or bad!!!!
true of any player in the NFL.

the good news is Tony has the head and skills for the game. now we just need gameplans that rely less on him being peyton manning (our games since thanksgiving) and more like tony romo.

i'll be shocked if he's not one of the better and more effective QBs in the league next year (not stat hangers but game manager, 3rd down, etc.)

for someone who is always pushing for stats, I must say, you are very convincing ;)

Hey, don't mind summeisfunner, he is just still upset that the Cowboys lost.

Anyone in their right mind know that Campbell is already better then Romo will ever be! As a matter of fact, Campbell is already better then Peyton Manning and will only get better!

Did you see that accuracy, that evasiveness, the savey that Jason has? Unbelieveable!

I would not be surprised if he took your team to the SuperBowl next year and won it! And the year after, too!

What a steal the Commanders got with this guy! It will be another 10 or 20 years before another QB comes out of the draft with the awesome skills that Campbell has...he's on a level that right now that is higher then almost any starting QB in the NFL right now!

Man, I wish the Cowboy had him...

While there is some truth to that... THAT could be said about ANY QB... the reason why we were less effective had more to do with lapsed defense which led to fewer offensive opportunities... then when we had our few opps we were playing catch towards end of season...

If we execute the offense that we have on paper... Romo will put up better numbers each year

The future is "bright"! Like a shining Star for the Commanders!

And...you found your QB of the future. What an amazing player he is...

I really envy you...

if the only way you can feel better about romo's play is by trying to downgrade an above average player, then i really do feel sorry for you.

We already can be certain that the Commanders will pursue needless high priced free agent upgrades that don't mesh with the system or have chemistry with the team and staff.

The question is whether or not the talented but enigmatic Cowboys will be 9-7 and a shade better than the Commanders or head and shoulders above the rest of the conference.

These are the two options that will befall Dallas in 2007, another wildcard and quick exit or a first round bye and deep playoff if not championship run.

Retreads will be employed if that is true, Snyder will deficit spend, it is all he knows how to do. Throw money at the problem and hope for the best.
