Rick Herrin is on GAC right now.

Says that Jerry used to be on the field with Bill, with his program out and everything. This year the whole crew was more up in the stands together. They are interviewing all the prospects back at the team hotel.

He confirms that Tom Ciskowski really did most of the college work the last couple of years, and that Ireland did more the pro personnel stuff and gathered the information on college guys from Tom. Says Jeff always used to say, "Well Tom says this and Tom says that..." about the college prospects.

So according to him, it wasn't just spin when Jerry was saying that after Ireland left.

Says the WRs weren't that impressive other than Jordy Nelson, who was catching passes on most guys. (Mentioned Manningham being available at our pick... Thinks Kelly will already be gone.)

Said Henne was by far the most impressive QB, and that Brennan really struggled to keep up. Supposedly one of the coaches even kidded Brennan, "Can we get a deep ball, Colt?"

Keeps saying that a lot of the best players in this draft will be juniors.

Only gave a facetious answer about how much Wade was involved, unfortunately.

Said we had more people there than any other team. People from other teams were talking about how all our coaches were there along with the scouts, and how everyone had their eyes on the players all the time.

Apparently, one reason for having everyone there was so they could have overall personnel meetings about the team -- not just the draftees -- at the team hotel.

Probably will get its own thread, but Estridge claims that we hired Todd Grantham as D-line coach today Apparently Wade told them that he wanted to get the D-line coach taken care of first. And that Wade was pretty disappoined he couldn't get Emmitt Thomas as DB coach.

Good stuff. Interesting on the wideouts, although I saw somewhere that Jason Garrett was impressed with Early Doucet. Maybe I'm wrong.

Thanks for posting.

From everything I've read, Doucet had a very good week.

Doucet tweaked a hammy and dropped out, didn't he? Maybe that's why Herrin didn't mention him...

Thanks, CL.

Kinda odd on the Jordy Nelson bit. Everything I've been reading is that the WRs have been impressive, except for Nelson who is sluggish and a poor route runner.

I was watching some of the nfl networks coverage today and that cromartie has an insane vertical.

He was just waiting for the ball to be thrown his way and he was going way up to get it. Looked like he has incredible athletic ability and I didnt see him drop anything.

I know nothing about this years draft though, so this kid could be terrible. Just passing along what I saw.

No, he's the real deal. He was considered a sleeper for awhile, but now he's shooting up charts, such that he might end up being a bubble first rounder. He'll at least go in the first two rounds.

This is from gbnreport.com

Top 10 players in Mobile

1. Southern Cal DT Sedrick Ellis
2. California WR Lavelle Hawkins
3. Tennessee State DB Dominique Rodgers-Cromartie
<>4. Maryland DT Dre Moore
5. Indiana CB Tracy Porter
6. Florida WR Andre Caldwell
7. Troy CB Leodis McKelvin
8. Arizona State C Mike Pollak
9. Virginia Tech OLB Xavier Adinbi
10. Southern Cal OG Drew Radovich

This looks like a really nice CB class.

I think we could get a very good CB at 28 as well.

Ray Rhodes is supposedly weighing an offer from the Texans for their DBs.

New here, so bear with my naive questions...

What is GAC?

Who is Rick Herrin?

Was James Hardy there? If so, any word on how he looked?

Interesting about the WRs that he would say that, literally every article every day of practice so far Eddie Royal has been mentioned as looking great. He is a 3rd round prospect at this point it seems, but still he has looked very good from all indications. Also no mention of Flacco.
