I'm great with players talking about the team, not airing dirty laundry or negative comments; especially speaking for another player...

This is the exact thing that tore down our team in the early 90's...

how come there wasnt an outcry after newman aired dirty laundry on bradie james in 06, and the very next week newman was torced by furry and made a fool by mike williams of all people.

seems to me people on this forum only make a fuss about certain players.

What in the world are you trying to say?

And, yes, we just make a fuss about certain players. Cause we are hating on Ellis.

Ellis is a whiney, sissipated, insecure player who is gaining a reputation of just yaking for no good reason other than to attract attention to himself.

Trade or dump his arse and let's get on with seeing Spencer and looking toward the future.

I guarantee you that Newman and Henry are thinking, "Bring it on, Pacman, you aren't taking my job without a huge fight."

Why would Newman be thinking that?
He's our best cover guy on the team until Pacman gets here and Pacman will play opposte TNew.

Ya know, drinking this early in the day is not good for youse.

After listening to that audio, I don't see how anyone can hate Greg Ellis like a couple of people seem to. He may not express himself very well, but his heart is definitely in the right place. Not sure how anyone could sound like much better of a teammate than he does.

It was kind of funny to hear him reassure Newman and Henry about their status, though. Definitely a case of projection there. Hey Greg, not everyone is as insecure as you. I guarantee you that Newman and Henry are thinking, "Bring it on, Pacman, you aren't taking my job without a huge fight."

yeah I really don't get all the hate he gets.

..are really a trip. No wonder the players get feedup with the media and the so called 'fans' at times.

I thought Ellis was extremely candid and he was open and honest about his concerns about what he said about RW being overblown and all taken out of context by so many.

I've thought the same thing all along. At least Ellis is willing to not run from the media and leave his comments unexplained since it rubbed so many the wrong way lately.

I have to tell you, Greg Ellis has his flaws, but he just reached the height of his career with his play last year and I for one hope he can play another 3-4 years for us at this rate.

We were a much weaker defense when he went down injured and we are a much better one when he's playing..be it LBer or DE.

And as sombody said here earlier in the thread, for years the players couldn't talk to the media and everything had to be filtered thru BP.

We all screamed about that and thought it was damaging to us as fans.

Now, Phillips takes the bit out of the players mouths and they are allowed to speak publically and interact with media personalities and as a result, people get cranked over things that are being said and attacking their statements from every direction and trying to twist words into manifestos of fan rage.

Unbelieveable.

I have to commend Mike Irvin for the quality and depth he goes to in his interviews. He asks a lot of interesting questions that the players don't mind answering and aren't afraid to speak candidly with him. I really enjoy it.

As we go thru this season, Irvin is going to bring us alot of excellent journalism on this team we are all going to be dying for compared to the Spagnola/Galloway/Bayless/Frenchie agendas and rants.

Thanks for the link.

Didn't Ellis come out a day after the season ended and say he wanted out? How it only made sense that the Cowboys were going to soon cast him aside since we invested a first-round pick in Anthony Spencer?

Suddenly, four or so months later, he's supposed to be seen as the voice of reason to talk other players off the ledge? Please.

He's a great guy, a damn good player who is coming off a career season, and could baby sit my kids any day (thanks Jerry). But he whines two out of every three times he talks to the press.

It gets old fast.
