I'm one who has not touted Chris Johnson as a 1st rounder, though I would like him if he's there later in Rd2.

Norm's comments about last year show a lack of research though....the kid was hurt last year. For that matter, Rashard Mendenhall was a 5th rounder last year too. But I do agree that, IMO, some are getting too worked up over the 40 time--even though he seems to actually play at that speed. There is true risk there, so 2nd (or even 3rd) round would be a bit safer.

Like I have said elsewhere, we don't need extra picks--we don't have many spots on our roster to fill. If we can trade 1st or 2nd round picks for veterans, do it. We need at least 2 new corners and maybe a WR. And I really think we are overlooking the contribution Thomas (if healthy) will make to the pass defense; because he gets a great drop on passes, he eases the burden on th safeties to cover.

^^ I'm in total agreement. We need BETTER palyers, not MORE players.

I expect us to take Talib at 22 and J Stewart at 28 or visa versa. We are in a position to take the best player available with any of our picks. But we do need to come away with two CBs.

I think it's unwise to suggest anyone has any idea what the Raiders/Al Davis is going to do to do. Peter King said that Michael Bush is completely healed from his broken leg and they think he can be a feature back this year so they're not going to take McFadden. I could easily see Davis taking Chris Long if he's there with the "Raider Family" and all that.

I heard Davis was going to trade the 4th pick for Desean Jackson and a box of stool softeners.

the only ones getting worked up over the 40 time are those who never saw Chris Johnson play, and didn't know he was extremely fast and explosive
