Yep! Predicted Dak would get big Mike fired but I thought it was going to be last year. I had no idea it was Moore he was going to get fired. I guess Mike is this year.
Moore fired himself with is predictable offense.

While Lance has struggled with injuries and his time in SF in terms of development, his pedigree is based on his draft selection makes him an upgrade over any backup QB Dallas has had in the Dak tenure and I agree this is JJ saying we now have a 23-year old former #3 overall draft pick that we can develop in 2023 in time for the 2024 Dak negotiations.
While some say Dallas has zero leverage, I agree this is JJ developing leverage as he has put all the pieces in place for Dak to take this team to the NFCCG and possibly Super Bowl or it's time to move on from Dak.
Ryan Leaf was drafted high. There are soo many.

is hedging bets. hoping lance works out. if it does we have all the leverage in dak renegotiations. if it doesn't, then Dak and his agent have leverage.

its a good move by Jerry and Cowboys, as they had no other options.
Of course Dak has all the leverage. Dak will get his extension 52+M. Jerry is not dumb enough to turn the team over to an unproven 3rd string QB .Lance's claim to fame is that he was a 1st round pick, certainly not his performance on the field. Lance is no threat to Dak. Besides Rush is much better than Lance.

Even then what are they going to do with Dak. NTC and 61 million in dead cap if cut in 2024.
The Cowboys are going to have to either extend Dak, or let him play out his contract. If Lance were to get on the field for an extended period this season and plays exceptionally well, who knows what the Cowboys might do. They could very well let him play on his contract if they think they’re going to move on from him. However, that’s not likely to happen. They’re going to have to see a lot of real good from Lance to allow Dak to walk. Lance looks to be a long way off and may never arrive.

No haul? Conservatively....addung a top 10 qb involves a haul. If Dak loses his job at some point to Trey, he would approve most trades to be able to play.
Ken I just wanted to tell you, Don't worry about Trey replacing Dak. This year or next Dak is under contract. After that is Trey beats him out, oh well. If he can't or Dak plays that well

we just keep rolling along. The only dunce caps calling for it are the dim bulbs amongst us . Enjoy the season Bro

Dak was 23 of 43 for 254 yards with 1 td and 1 int....he had a QBR of 32.4 and could only lead Dallas to 7 points through 3 quarters, getting only an additional 10 points when the game was all but over.

The Dallas defense gave up 23 points, 7 of which came by way of a Dak INT on his own 26-yard line.

Lastly, while Dallas did commit 14 penalties for 89 yards, SF was called for 9 penalties for 58 yards so it's not like the difference was dramatic in the least.

So say all you want that Dak didn't play poorly but the facts/stats show differently.....1 Dak turnover was the difference much like Dak's 2 turnovers were the difference in 2022 vs. SF.
If the offense could've ran the ball better and put up more than 77yds. Sure we couldve won.

If the defense couldve stop the run, instead of giving up 169yds and 3 td's. Sure we couldve won.

If the coaching staff couldve focused the players and cut down on the penalties we definitely coulve won.

If Dak couldve played better, sure we could've won.

Thats why they call it a TEAM loss. Down playing 14 penalties and singling out Dak's performance as the sole reason for the loss does nothing but shows your bias.

Moore worked wonders with a gimp horse.
Did you forget to mention that the predictable offense finished top 3 last season under Mr. Moore?
Moore was another Dak scapegoat victim one of many and MM is next in line for the Dak guillotine!!!

Solidifying the defense by extending Diggs, the raise Martin received, trading for Lance, today's extension of Steele and the incoming extension of Lamb is all being done as part of a strategic roster construction so that when Dak and the front office negotiate a new deal, the front office is going to be able to say we've given you all these key pieces for success, now it's time that you work with us.

Plus, the front office is going to let them know they can not budge with Micah needing an extension as soon as next year.

Dak got the max deal last time around.

Now it's time for him to take a team friendly deal for a Superbowl run.

If not, then it will be best for both parties to go their separate ways.

Hopefully a team friendly extension is worked out with Dak.
Meanwhile, no super bowl will be one. Jerry will buy another yacht. And sucker fans will continuw to make posts like this.

It's been 3 years since he received his market setting deal.

He's won 1 playoff game and did not have a great 2022 season with 15 interceptions and a poor performance against SF in the playoffs.

His pay rate requires much more success than what he has produced.

Dak has lost leverage.
His pay rate is set by the market, not playoff success.

It's called a 4th-round rookie contract so stop the claim Dak did Dallas a favor when in early 2019 JJ offered Dak a $32M/year deal but Dak turned it down demanding more money, just as he did in 2020.....Dak is about the money, period.
And Jerry is not?

Just let Dak know that David Carr can probably be signed for the league minimum.

If the quarterback position was all about who is the best at heaving the pigskin then former quarterback Jeff George with the brain of a cherry would be in the Football Hall of Fame.

if they go into next year with Lance having moved up to over take back up position and the team trusting him, then they have done good in the trade.

that's too much for them to understand. you see they learned football in game zone and think of themselves as experts.

Dak has leverage only because Dallas does not have an adequate backup plan. They are hoping Trey Lance can be that guy, but so was San Francisco hoping he could be that guy.

Otherwise, they can trade Dak in 2024 and after taking into consideration his prorated bonuses and everything else, I think it would be about a $2 million hit against the cap. His CAP number is $59 million next year. $29 million is salary and there is a $5 million roster bonus. So his CAP hit would be $25 million plus $36 million pro-rated bonus (2025 and 2026) or $61 million. So while there would be a huge amount of dead money in 2024, the CAP difference would only be about $2 million. He would be completely off the books in 2025. Again, this can only happen if Dallas has a QB like Lance on a cheap rookie deal.

Isn't Cooper rush like 9-1 as a starter?
