Thumbs up. This game is ******. It's almost too damn big though. I'm considering playing sick so I can have a nintendo-no-friendo day.

Does it take forever to get from one side of the map to the other? (especially since your on a horse and not a vehicle)

The one thing that bugged me in FarCry 2 (made me want to trash to game, plus it's repetitiveness) and GTA was the length of time it took to get from one mission to another, and that was in a car.

This game owns. I think it is way better than the last GTA. Who would of thought shooting coyote's and mounting horses would be so much fun? Sounds a bit like my love life actually...

wow, the last video game I played was the 2nd Resident Evil game either on the PS1 or PS2. My jaw just dropped at the CGI graphics. Do most of today's games have equal graphics or is this the cream of the crop. Really looks like a movie.

I have yet to play it, so take that into consideration, but from talking with the Gamestop rep here he said the playable area in this game is 30 square miles. Double the amount of area that was in GTA's biggest world. He mentioned that it would take 15 minutes to drive across the entire area in GTA and now you've got double the area to go across, on horseback, so he mentioned that yes it takes longer and it often has you getting distracted with side things you come along going across the place like that from one mission to the next.

RDR is not the cream of the crop looks wise it looks good for such a huge game but there are far better looking games out there, most games today look better then RE2 CGI did back in the day

This is IMO the cream of the crop looks wise

I think what you're looking for is "presentation", not necessarily graphics. There are tons of good looking games, but it takes a very good studio to be able to present it in a coherant cinematic presentation.

Red Dead is certainly among the cream of the crop in that respect.

Wow wow wee! This vid looked amazing! Thanks Ren for posting the clip. and thanks Count for giving your opinion too. I like how the camera was situated perfectly during all the running and jumping. Holy cow! Is that game too complicated for a 9 and 7 year old boys (my nephews) they have a Wii and DSi.

Yeah....luckily, they've adapted the taxi feature from the last GTA to this via stagecoach or train.

It is easy to get distracted along your way....seems like there is something to do at all times. This game could keep me busy for a LONG time.

...and that might be a bad thing.

What an amazing game, I've been playing it since dinner and finally managed to pull my self away at 3am. I had high hopes for this, the game seems to have exceeded them.

So far this seems like Rockstars best game and that's saying a lot considering they made the GTA series, every part of this game just reeks of quality

I honestly can't put down the controller either. It's just a very well crafted game and Rockstar deserves so much credit for setting a high bar once again. Very strong Game of the year canidate IMO.
