For every "red flag" who does not make it there is a "red flag" who turns out to be a Randy Moss or Warren Sapp. We as fans simply do not have enough information or first hand knowledge of these young men to make certain kinds of judgments. I'll leave it up to the NFL Staffs who have these players entire record, spend hours with them and their families and talk to the people that are close to them. Sure we have some documented issues that were reported in the media but we as Cowboys fans should know better then to entirely trust the media.

It's nice to know either way but I'm not going to say stay away from Bowman in any round just because CBS reports he was suspended in 2004 because of marijuana charges with out know the whole story and everything he has done since then.

I don't think anyone here is making judgments. This is standard draft stuff. Players who have past issues will be seen in a different light, media or no media. Some over come and some never rise above their past.

I want good character guys, thats all.

But I think you have to be aware of the red flags cause of guys like Tank Johnson, Vick, Lawrence Phillips, Pacman, etc. when you NEED to hit on your 1st round picks as well as others obviously!
You said Randy Moss, but when Moss got into the league, he DID have a bunch of trouble, hitting acop with his car among others I forgot, not to mention his willingness to only play when he wants too, character is a BIG PLUS for me and my draft picks, I remember Parcells always looking for guys who are their teams LEADERS, hence why I love the pickup of Thomas for us, cause your teams character is also what wins games and the more guys you got with high character, that carries over to everyone else, which is basically why the Raiders always suck. LOL
I noticed in your mock you had Jake Ikegwounu in round 4, he got injured and is gonna miss the entire 08' season with back to back injuries on 2 straight years, I'd take a flyer on him with our 6th rounder, but not any higher due to the fact he may never be the same and he won't play in 08'.
Also T.V. Man, you should put Ikegwounu under your INJURED list as well instead of the red flag list, or both if Ikegwounu has character problems which I don't know.

can you add Colt Brennan to that list as many people tend to forget his red flags issue.

From the article:

"charges of disorderly conduct and resisting arrest without violence."

"Jenkins has never gotten into trouble during his time at USF."

Is that really enough to constitute red flags for you? Do you realize how easy it is to get arrested and charged with that? He could have been cussing outside of the bar and then walked off and ignored a cop....and been charged with that.

Just look up the incident in which he was kicked off Colorado. Something to do with showing his privates to a girl in the dorms and fondling her. Pretty common knowledge, though the media doesn't seem to talk about it anymore. I think it was a bit of a he said she said incident, but it's still not something that looks good on his character.

From his wiki page:

Brennan originally joined the University of Colorado football team in 2003 as a walk-on. He spent the year as a redshirt.

On January 28, 2004, Brennan entered the dorm room of a University of Colorado coed uninvited and, according to the coed "exposed himself and fondled her',"[3] a charge which Brennan denied [4]. Brennan, who was intoxicated at the time of the incident, was arrested and eventually convicted of charges of felony burglary and trespassing[5] (serving one week in jail along with probation until he graduated from college), but a guilty verdict for unlawful sexual contact was vacated by the court for lack of evidence. [2] After the incident, which was caught up in the middle of the time when CU was flooded with other accusations of sex crimes and revelations of wild recruiting parties involving Colorado football players, Brennan was kicked off the team.[6]

After Quincy Carter, AB, Derek Ross, Goodrich

I look at Red flag warnings a lot closer :)

Let them be someone else's problem!
If aqll they ddi was smoke pot in college, I think you could put 95% of the league in that category, but anything more serious, or MULTIPLE charges and multiple stints with the law is a huge red flag!

Brennan was convicted of first-degree criminal trespass and second-degree burglary, but was acquitted of charges of sexual assault and indecent exposure. He was sentenced to seven days in jail and four years probation.

Seems like the school rushed to judgement on him cause of 50 other people with past problems, and it seemed like it was his freshman year, probably just 18 years old 19 at most, and just got too drunk, women make **** up all the time, it would be another thing if she charged him with rape or something, but he's done nothing since and seems to have grown up, It's a red flag, but to me a minor one since he was so young and DRUNK, that **** happens, I have friends who are the nicest guys in the world and if they got drunk woudl turn into different people, seems like he learned his lesson since he hasn't got into any trouble since that day since he ws on probation, and like I said, one night drunk and a hearsay by a women his freshman year is all that happened and nothing since then?
I wouldn't hold it against him, although it could be a red flag, I'd tend to let that slide as a young stupid kid who got drunk one night but seemed to have learned his lesson since he hasnt' been in any trouble since.
I wouldn't mind drafting him later in the draft to groom, although I'd really like Josh Johnson in round 4 unless someone fell that we just couldn't pass up.

RW and Flo are the only Cowboys or possible Cowboys who have real red flag issues.

If Brennan did all that to your daughter, sister, or mother, would you still make up those excuses for him?

My opinion, a short trial, conviction, followed by an ineptly carried out execution.
