Hey fans, has anyone gotten sick of the trick plays we run in the red zone. We get to the red zone, usually a false start comes or holding penalty. But for some reason in a condensed area, Kellen Moore thinks it's cute to start being cute.

Forget all the reverses etc let's play smash mouth football, bootleg or something. Maybe this is just him admitting we don't know what to do in the red zone. But somehow all summer long, they worked on end zone routes and #88 was non stop in training camp. Please give me your thoughts

I have always been puzzled by Moore's propensity to call weird plays in the red zone. He calls end arounds or bubble screens (because it worked once) and they don't work or lose yards. The Cowboys WRs are the worst blockers so why asked them to block on those bubble screens? But if the OL cannot block in the running game then I guess creativity is the only option to move the ball.

odd or ironic this place 6 weeks ago wanted Moore to become a hc here regardless of how the season went and get rid of Mm to not lose this fraud..hes good OC hes not specials or boy genius much like the old label shanahan got in 9er land , both arent special. they are just good young ocs that it..

so ironic how this place turns on players and coaches seemingly overnight..

reality check when players aren't executing's and making mistakes that tend to lose games for you, all of sudden coaches look bad..

so like a qb a coach is only as good as his team executes around them..if not hard to coach or succeed when you have 14 penalties for 166 yards and many drives or big plays stalled because of it..they like the qb either get all the blame or the credit goes elsewhere..

this is a players league ie total team sport. Mistakes have costs us this slump..players need to execute, make less mistakes etc etc

BilB did nothing last year without TALENT..LOOKS LIKE BILLB again..ironic isnt it got players back and added and got them humming again..

coaches need players to execute, thats it, & make a minimal amount of mistakes..

No. Do whatever it takes to get the ball in the end zone.

Most of these teams have QBs that just run around until someone is open and make a play.

In our case a lot of our problems would be fixed if they can take the game out of Dak’s hands and get the run game going.

Dak is a different player when our team has a lead and the threat of a run game.

At very least the red zone trick plays give other teams something to think about and makes Dallas unpredictable. This, in turn, helps some of the straight ahead run plays be more effective.

Every team does it and its silly to me honestly but looking at what this offensive line has become...I get having no confidence in the run or pass blocking so relying on a trick play.

It wouldn't be cute if the players exercised discipline and ran the plays as they were meant to be run. Just because a play doesn't work in the red zone doesn't mean it was a bad play call. If say a TE doesn't block his guy out on the perimeter and the back can't get the corner because of it and is tackled then Kellen Moore was cute calling that particular play? False starts and holding penalties or any penalty is on the players who are flagged not their coach or coaches. Sometimes those drive killing penalties are so tick tack as well. I have no problems with Kellen calling plays the way he does in the red zone. I have a problem with the players not executing those plays as designed.

Maybe he feels like he needs to do something to create an advantage. Dak struggles in the redzone and we are not the smashmouth offense of old that can run vs anything. Moore trying to get some guys 1 on 1 is not a bad thing.

agreed, when it is from one yard line , atleast line up and try to push it in , if that doesnt work couple of times , no problem trying something else. Why get cute when running is working ?
