Redzone concern?

Look at the good teams, LAR, NO, KC, CHI, etc. They are creative in the red zone. Shovel passes. Bunch formations with WR screens (like PHI did to us at the 2 yard line). Jet sweeps and jet sweep action. Tackle-eligible passes... the answer is not simply "run the damn ball." It is "be creative" and make the defense have to think a little.

Bingo! The key is to try to catch the defense in a mismatch, be it scheme or personnel. I had no issue with passing on first down when we had 1st and goal at the 5. The thing I thought strange though was having Beasley run an inside slant. The dude's the shortest receiver - easy for him to get lost in the weeds and Dak not find him. Seems like Noah Brown would've been a better option.

Redzone is a major issue...IMO more option read run plays, PA off of it, maybe add the reverse. Its also not Daks strength to be in the redzone and force him to fit tighter windows or place it nice over the shoulder.
Same QB, same OC all three years.

Dallas Red Zone TD%
2018 48.6% (26th)
2017 59.6% (6th)
2016 66.7% (3rd)

Different TE, WR, and OL.

>>Eagles Redzone D one of the best. You take what the defense gives you.

What needs to change? It seems they're knowing Zeke and/or Dak will run it in. It seems we can't throw a TD in the RZ.

I think we need some bigger TE packages and get them involved. Your thoughts?

I think it is hard to score down there and at times players have blown the opportunity. Beasley had one in the back of the endzone in the Philly game, would have been a tough grab but still one that hit him in the hands. You can't squander the chance.

We have a bunch of speedy receivers.. Who's the tallest? Amari Cooper at 6'1? Gronk is about half a foot taller than any of our receivers. TE's need to step up and learn the position. I agree, Witten spoiled us.

So you're saying Dak was throwing great back-shoulder fades and fitting the ball into tight windows in 2016 and 2017?
Nope just that hes inconsistent doing so every time he steps back.

Also, I hope Im not giving the impression of defending Linehan

But not in 2016 and 2017?

My point is WHAT he's throwing in the red zone probably doesn't matter nearly as much as WHO he's throwing to. Same QB, same OC. Top 2 receiving threats gone and we drop more than 20 spots.

Very true. Also maybe our line can't push like they used to
