If we want to have any success this post season it might be a good idea to remember our best player when it matters most, not just outside the 20.

Linehan is "outsmarting" himself in the red zone. Smh...makes no sense why Zeke doesn't get the touches Emmitt used to get down there.

Sorry but our OL has not been great this season in the redzone. Miscommunication on several run plays or the inability to make blocks. I think the game has passed Linehan by but our reality is THIS season our OL has been hit or miss.

Our banged up OL is still better than the Giants but that does not seem to deter them from using their best weapon down there. No more excuses for Linehan, he's incompetent.

Not an excuse.....just a reality that Cowboys fans refuse to acknowledge because it does not fit into their agenda of wanting Linehan gone. I appreciate you making my point.

That doesn't explain the lack of attempts down there. They gave him a ton of touches between their own 1 and the red zone all season. The OL played well enough for Zeke to lead the League again in rushing and allowed Dallas to be a Top 5 or 6 rushing team in the League. Trust them and him. Give him the more in the red zone.

Misleading statistic.

Zeke has fewer carries in the red zone because the Cowboys offense has a whole has ran fewer plays in the red zone.

Check out these passing attempts inside the 20.
Does this mean we need to pass the ball more in the red zone?

Goff (101)
Brees (93)
Manning (86)
Prescott (70)

Talk about misleading, now show me passing attempts inside the 10 and inside the 5.

Nice job of pointing that out

I was just about to say something similar.

Because this OL isn't the same we had in 2016 much less than what Emmett had. Linehan has shied away from running against stacked boxes because we struggle doing so. More than half of fans here say we are supposed to scheme guys open, isn't that why we call pass plays when wr's are in single coverage? Dak needs to take advantage of these soft coverages like he did vs the Giants, that will help open up tough runs for Zeke.

I have seen many times inside the 5 Dallas will run Zeke on 1st down and get stopped then go away from it. Those are tough yards but with a back like Zeke I give him more than 1 carry. Hell I would go 4 downs of slamming Zeke into the line down by the goal line I have faith he can break through

Our red zone troubles are very often self inflicted
Inside the 5 and I run Zeke 3 times and consider a 4th
But when we’ve passed we’ve had several where the play was there and we had a drop, missed the open guy, got a penalty
Here on out we’ve got to call smarter plays and exact better
Saturday is just the warm up for the real show to me

The definition of insanity is to do the same thing over and over again expecting different results. And we all know the redzone is a different beast than the rest of the field.

What are the success for those players within those distances?

No doubt key is execution

Zeke has 10 rush attempts within the 5 yard line for a total of 3 yards and 2 TDs.

10 yards and in he has 22 attempts for 34 yards, so a little under 1.5 ypc
