there are about to discuss it on NFL Live. I also found this blurb on another forum but waiting for an official link to it.

Reeves thinks that T.O.'s Dallas days are numbered

Despite spending just 48 hours with the Dallas Cowboys, Dan Reeves was a witness to some heated debate on wide receiver Terrell Owens' future with the club, according to Tim MacMahon of the Dallas Morning News' Cowboys blog.

During an appearance on the David Smoak show on KTBB, Reeves said, "I don't think you ever talk to the Cowboys without Terrell Owens coming up. I can say there are definitely some mixed feelings about T.O. Most everybody you talk to has a different opinion of him. They definitely have a decision to make as far as to what they will do about T.O., and I really don't know what that will be."

Speaking later in the day with BaD Radio on 1310 The Ticket, Reeves reiterated his point that there were mixed feelings amongst Cowboys staff on Owens, then added, "From an outsider, I certainly have an opinion. I think the more distractions that you can eliminate and get the team focused on the team and not themselves, then you've got a better chance."

If the team does get rid of T.O., that would provide some cap space to bring in Ray Lewis, who told the NFL network earlier this week, "I see Dallas as a great opportunity. It's always been America's Team. It's just a great place to play football."

Since when does releasing Owens "free up cap space"?

"was a witness to some heated debate"

LOL.

Here's the MacMahon blog post, which just pulls together quotes from Reeves:

Reeves just said there were some 'mixed feelings' about TO. Yet it gets blown into something like he was "witness to heated debate."

Just a theory, but I feel like Reeves' input on these issues had more to do with the breakdown than some stupid "Hours Clause". I really don't think that's what Jerry wanted to hear, and Reeves was not about to start tickling his ears when it comes to the Cowboys.

I doubt it. You don't come into an organization talking about who you're going to fire. Besides, T.O. and Jerry Jones are aware of Reeves' comments. I'm sure Reeves would have given T.O. the benefit of the doubt before making a recommendation - if he even had the authority to do so.

I didn't say Reeves came in talking about firing T.O. But look at that quote, and if that's the philosophy Reeves was sharing, I can see how Jerry would have disapproved.

I kind of feel like Wade grabbed Reeves like an exasperated mother with an impossible child and said "Please. You come here and talk. He'll listen to you."

thank you Dan Reeves.

mixed feelings => "heated discussions" => "Garrett ultimatun"

Lets just imagine what happens if TO stays like RW, Ware, Crayton, Witten etc have said will happen.....

Headline: Turmoil coming to a head in Dallas - Likely fight tomorrow
OTAs:
Reporter:"TO, who on the staff hates you"
TO:"Next question"
reporter:"Were there any fights today"
B James: "No not today"

there was an article on here like a week or 2 ago that had Reeves saying how distractions hurt us and he named T.O. and Pacman as some of those distractions. after I read it I laughed and said I bet Jerry doesn't hire him now cause T.O. is like a son to Jerry or he atleast treats him like one. it could just be a coinicidence but I doubt it.

That's a very interesting take and I wouldn't be suprised if that is not far from the truth.

Also, the title of the Blog is extremely misleading. Nowhere did Dan Reeves state that Terrell Owens' days might be numbered. He indicated that there were definately "internal" discussions going on about Terrell Owens' future.

hahahahaha at all you guys believing this nonsense.

Reeves has stated many times in the 11 interviews he did that he "was not prepared to offer an opinion on T.O. as in insider yet". That "I don't think the T.O. decision" has been made. That "Jerry Jones will ultimately make the T.O." decision.

So now Reeves is a liar because he doesn't fit your agenda???

Good grief.

How many times does a guy have to totally contradict something before it gets accepted?

T.O. may still end up released. And even if he wasn't Dan Reeves was clear he would have been here regardless provided Jerry Jones takes out the clause about time commitment even right now this second.

There's nothing to suggest that Reeves was sharing that opinion. If anything, he was getting feedback on what others in Valley Ranch felt about T.O. That's the kind of legwork you do when you come into an organization. You don't start making recommendations of firings off the top. You survey the organization and get a feel of things first.

But it's water under the bridge. Reeves is not here. More of the same at 11.

Actually, Reeves said they never even discussed Owens.

I'm as anti-TO as they come and I agree. If Reeves said it wasn't specifically about TO I tend to believe him.

He was only in VR for two days, and AFAIK TO isn't anywhere around VR, so if Reeves is being honest about needing to be an "insider" to make that decision he certainly hadn't gotten to that point yet. i would think he would at least meet the guy before quitting a job over him.

Now I wouldn't be shocked if there was more to it than the time clock issue, and maybe say in personnel was a key part of the breakdown, but I don't think it was TO specific given Reeves pretty specific answers.

Anyway, the bold in the quote below is what I was saying "may not be far from the truth". Furthermore, if you "read" what I stated in its entirety, instead of trying to pick a fight, I basically stated that this article was BS because the title was very deceiving.

I didn't say Reeves came in talking about firing T.O. But look at that quote, and if that's the philosophy Reeves was sharing, I can see how Jerry would have disapproved.

Actually, Reeves said they never even discussed Owens.

It is a little funny that he had TO figured out BEFORE he got here, then he doesn't have an opinion now because "he wasn't there long enough"

So, if some media wanker needs a soundbite
"If it looks like a rat and smells like a rat" - TO is the main reason

But Reeves gets here and finds MANY TO supporters that "he doesn't have an opinion"

I applaude that he admits his mind wasn't/isn't made up, but this inflamatory ultimatums from media members are rarely the entire truth. Aikman is gay remember. That grew 8 pairs of legs.

TO must go. I'm one of the few that never wanted this twice proven team cancer on our roster.
