I think Reeve remains in his spot. Now is not the time to make major changes. Reeve has done a decent job as the 3rd CB and to bench him for a guy with little to no experience in the post season would be foolish.

Considering that Reeves has started more at Corner than Nick/Corner, he's proven his worth.

If we are lucky, Jerry will offer him a contract to stay in Dallas. Otherwise, we'll be drafting two corners in the Draft.

"Fear of Injury" is the only reason to sit Reeves this weekend.

The Coaches must think Nate J. is better than Ball, otherwise we'd have seen him by now.

I hope Reeves returns I think he has done a good job for us. As for Ball he is a rookie playing a very difficult position and Dallas has been fortunate in that we have not been forced into putting Ball out there. I have high hopes for Ball in the future but not being ready this season comes as no surprise

Yeah, let's play an untested rookie over a guy who has played very well for us all year. What a great idea!!!!!

Reeves is a very solid corner.

Most of the Reeves haters are Henry fanz.

It'll play out on its own, soon enough.

By the way...interesting list....
It already has. Who's been starting the past couple of weeks? Has Reeves been injured? Why did he "lose" his spot to Henry? Was it Henry's all along?

As long as the contract is for #3 CB, it's all good because that is exactly what his is, a #3 CB.

Yeah Dennis Dixon can be our next 4th round quarterback/wide receiver convert...

Don't sell the kid short. Would be a 2-3 year project at QB, but has great upside if he can handle the Pro-game. Would be the perfect "developmental" QB behind Romo & ________ . Would take him if he slid all the way to our 4th round choice.....

Tough choices to be made in the off-season. Have good, young players behind these guys so we cut them, save cap space, etc. I don't think we can keep them all because of salary cap; not sure about Crayton yet though, want to see how he responds in the playoffs.....

Good-bye:
1. Ferguson
2. A. Henry
3. T. Glenn

Is that list a wish list for 2008 season or do you believe those guys are gone after this season?

Only one that I could be fairly sure of is Ferguson, not sure about T. Glenn.

I believe Henry will be playing for the Cowboys in 2008.

No, not a wish list cuz I like these guys, but I just don't think we'll have the cap space to keep all of them, sign our own FAs, sign our draft picks, and pick-up URFAs. HOPE I'm wrong, but I just think we'll have some tough choices to make (benefit/pitfall of having a talented, deep team, huh?).

I've seen enough of Reeves.....i hope we start Alan Ball, and Nathan Jones...it would suck for Ball too come in the nickle, because your not getting a real good look at him......we all already know what Reeves can do, and i don't want to see anymore of this guy...i like him...but i rather see Alan .

What do you guys think?

Have you discussed this with the coaches yet? They seem to think Reeves is the third best defender on the team.

Given the record of the Cowboys, and the pass happy teams they have faced, I find it hard to believe that Reeves is that bad. He's not a shutdown corner, but the Cowboys would be stupid to let him go. He has been an able backup to both starters this year, and has gotten better every game.

Not to be too melodramatic, but Reeves is a Pro Bowler compared to Ball right now. Remember, the last we saw Ball, Joey Thomas was outshining him in preseason.

If we're losing a corner, I'd rather it be Nate Jones, even despite his mad skills as a blitzer. (He does have more sacks than Roy Williams, and would likely be a better RB than Julius Jones- have I got enough bait in this post yet?)

But if we can get Ball some snaps on Sunday, I'm all for it.

Ball biggest problem is that he weights only 175 lbs soaking wet. courtney brown is closer to playing.

I'm kind of surprised this topic is even asked.

When Newman was hurt, who started in his place? Reeves. Where was Ball at that time? On the Practice Squad.

When Henry was hurt, who started in his place? Reeves. Where was Ball at that time? On the Practice Squad.

Now that both Henry and Newman are healthy and starting, who is the third CB? Reeves. Until very recently where was Ball? On the Practice Squad.

Reeves or Ball? Seems like a no brainer to me.

yea i agree...

im not saying we should start them every game....im just saying...we should start them VS the Commanders...its a meaningless game, and besides what we hear in TC...we havent seen much of ball....and the best way to see that, is 2 see what he can do in a starting position...god forbid Henry, Newman and reeves all go down I wanna see what this guy can do, having him just come in on nickle, while Henry and Newman Sit, isn't giving him a real look, Reeves has started....hes done good, but i was expecting some N. Asomugha...type play...they both been in the league the same time....and he sat for a few years, and started, and now look at him

Jacque Reeves came into the league as a project at CB - transitioning from college QB. All things considered, I think the guy has come a long way. Reeves was a late 7th round pick, and comparing his progress to Namdi Asomugha's is a bit unrealistic since Asomugha (31st overall) was one of the first corners taken in that draft.

i don't think this is a meaningless game. we have a chance to knock a division opponent out of the playffs. thats not meaningless to me.

Yep, that's true.

But every report says he's a very willing tackler despite being slight of build. It's not the size of the dog in the fight, it's the size of the fight in the dog. :)

And I don't know the combine measurements or anything, but look at how long those arms are. That along with good height does come in handy when defending passes.

I'm just not sure he has the raw athletic ability... You wouldn't want him manned up on Santana Moss, that's for sure. But I still like him as a developmental nickel back, and maybe something more down the road.

Wow...I'm shocked at the lack of respect for Reeves. He's a starting caliber CB at this point, not just a #3 guy.

He has started more games at CB than Newman or Henry, and we are still 12-2. He has definitely done something right. He seldom gets beaten deep...he's improved at attacking the ball...he's a sure tackler, and in his first year starting, he's improved as the year went on, and he'll improve more in the future.

In the 2nd half of the season, I think Reeves has played very well, not just adequate for a backup. I am very comfortable with him having to start for Henry or Newman. How many teams have that 3rd guy who can do that without invoking much fear?

I have no problem seeing the other guys play this week, but it's more for the fun of seeing them than the idea that they'll even come close to Reeves or that he's not a quality starter.

Reeves is only going to get better.

BUT, Reeves is probably going to be gone after this season.

Tuna has probably already called Reeves' agent.

Jerry messed this up when he only offered Reeves a 1 year deal.
