the illegal blocker downfield had zero effect on the play and should have not been called, to me. If you want every penalty to be called don't complain when they are.

my sentiments exactly. I guess by the letter of the law, the Giant player was guilty because it looked like he was approximately 2-3 yards beyond the LOS….I think the rule allows you to be only one yard beyond the LOS. But I agree with you…I want LESS PENALTIES CALLED….so I would like smart people to get together and revise the rules to take out penalties that don’t affect the play, the game, such as that play. Why can’t you allow for lineman to be up to 5 yards across the LOS? Just thinking out loud…Now, I suppose if that play was a Cowboys player committing that foul negating a TD I probably would have been more accepting of that call……lol

lastly, I have a feeling that penalty is overlooked by most linesmen because they too feel it is insignificant and doesn’t affect the play one bit too. But that linesman obviously wanted to be on television….ha

The Cowboys had at least twice the amount of penalties the Giants had. When they showed a figure it was something like 11 to 5 in the beginning to mid fourth quarter.

If you look at the stats over the years, the officiating numbers have generally favored the Giants. Since 1950, the Giants have something like 120 less penalties.

Sorry but you can't say this. When linemen go downfield the defenders start playing run.. Who is to say the safeties didn't see the linemen start heading downfield and leave their coverage responsibilities to come up in run support.

I think the Giants got away with a PI or two but the Cowboys got some phantom calls that really helped them too. That holding call on #30 on the Cowboys go ahead TD drive was about as bad as it gets. That was a 3rd down play. The Cowboys earned all of their penalties.

Why? Why can we not complain about crappy calls? We can complain about crappy passes, dropped balls, missed tackles, fumbles, horrible play calls but REFS are off limits? Sorry I aint livin in that world.

I despise the Crew that Officiated that Game. That Ref is an attention seeker.

I was there and was a first hand witness to this clown. After every tv timeout he would go stand 59 yards away and slowly, and I mean slowly raise his arms 3 times making the “X” signal and then even slower straighten out his arms at the end. By the time he finished this showboating b.s. it was time to start the play clock again.

They were.. however where I part ways is the non-calls against the Giants.. The PI on Lamb, the offsides on the first INT, the dozen fireman's carry take downs of our pass rushers that went uncalled. Some of them the linemen damn near threw our pass rushers onto the back judge.. He nimbly stepped out of the way but had no inkling of reaching for his flag. How about the two receivers blocking in the end zone on their "rub route" TD at the end of the game. Just too many fouls by the Giants ignored for me to adjudge this game to have been called fairly.
I agree. There were far too many to simply be discounted as outliers. Especially against Parsons. Lamb wore the DBs like shirts all night.

That coach better be careful. He looked ready to stroke out at any minute. And he was sweating profusely on the sidelines. Why don’t guys like him take advantage of the resources available and lose weight and get healthy…
No excuse for these guys to look like slugs liek that. Poor example for children he’s setting

Part of these guys jobs is watchability. If I were then I would call a timeout and say hey listen number 30 you’re basically grabbing lamb all day every play, we can’t call everything but it’s a foul or close to it, let his coaches know.

Hey 91 Watkins you can’t be holding the ol cmon now.

Hey who the heck gave these jittery cowboys a bunch of coffee before the game stop false starting.

I just wish the refs wouldn't need to have a 5 minute conference after every flag before announcing the call.
Maybe some part of our annoyance is seeing this sickly sum bushes 20 times a game. Do they Kev way have to be on tv announcing it? Couldn’t they just punch in what the penalty is?

mans why are they always even icraments of 5-10-15? Some holds should just be a redo Bc it was borderline and barely effected the play anyway. Some holds are total cheating Bc you don’t wanna waste a player chipping on parsons so you just hold him Bc you have absolutely no chance

Yeah. Dak thought he was going to get away with that play with the int. If he didn’t think it was going to be a free play I wonder if he throws that pass.

Anyway, I thought the penalties were in the cowboy's favor this game. And I think the Lamb Catch was a TD.

Weekly ref thread is on the books.

It's human nature.

Read into this one all the way through . . . change a few names and it could be a Zone thread, same exact title:

https://thegiantsboard.proboards.com/thread/12098/refs

For the record very similar posts over on BGN complaining about "Jerry's refs" on their thread on the NYG/Dallas game.

Now, there are legitimate beefs with officiating and for sure they let stuff slide, miss infractions, and make calls often on big plays to reverse the momentum but it happens to all teams.

Actually the refs had a good game IMO.

Lots of penalties but most were legit, and it certainly didn’t decide anything.

The problem isnt that the calls werent legit, it is when they call them. You can call holding on damn near every play, you can call illegal contact on damn near every play. How many of our penalties came on 3rd down that gave the giants extended drives? it is just so hard to see when they call stuff on one and let it go on another.
