Referee Assignment for Cowboys Eagles game

I'm betting all of those referees, mentioned, are on the Eagles' payroll . . .:omg:

Lining up the ref excuses in advance. Awesome. I miss the good old days when we didn't know who would ref the game, and accepted the result.
I miss the good old days where refs didn't constantly blow calls that heavily influenced the game. I miss the good old days where they didn't huddle up for 5 minutes before every call.

Gonna' be a lot of LATE flags thrown after we get long yardage plays. The fix is in.

Three of the sacks we had Sunday could have been called roughing the passer. Especially the last sack by Parsons at the end of the game. My head might explode if they call us for that crap like Atlanta and KC.

Be ready it's coming....I've been saying this, just watch, it's going to come at a terrible time in a prime time match-up and were going to have to overcome it

I am interested how the referees call penalties on the running quarterbacks. Hurts is going to be the first test because it is prime time.

Doesn't really matter who they are as they're all doing a terrible job right now. The NFL should be ashamed
Ashamed for not having fully trained referees. That work full time and spend hours reviewing their own games in detail with someone critiquing their every call. With a point system in place that takes money from their salaries for bad calls and bonuses for correct calls. I 'm no expert or top flight analyzer on here but the way they officiate right now really sucks with the crew of one officials calling things another crew doesn't. No uniformity in the calls are hurting the game and players are confused on what is or isn't allowed from one game to the next. Listen up NFL you have billions of dollars and with gambling finally legally making it's way to the game it is long past time to employ a very important part of your game properly.

Higbee had both arms completely wrapped around one of the pass rushers and didn't get called. It is crazy.

This kind of tells you everything you need to know about the state of officiating in the NFL when a post about what referees are doing the game is a legitimate post in the main section of the forums.

they tend to overreact to PUBLIC trending issues

so Tuas injury made them go roughing call crazy now players and coaches up in ARMS OVER THESE calls, i imagine this weekend they react back, and most likely things will be called little looser. so maybe they let them play, unless its egregious.,

I don't see roughing the passer being called much during this game. Hurts is a running style QB, they are not protected nearly as much for whatever reason.

It's less to do with the state of officiating and more to do with a big game coming up. Fear of a loss makes people look everywhere for "threats" and, if the loss happens, a pre-programmed excuse. There was a ref thread before the playoff game last year and it came out that a former Cowboy was part of the crew. Amazingly, no one wanted to talk about that. Wonder if they would have if the ref was a former Niner. Lol.

It's because when a QB runs to advance the ball, he is no longer considered a passer and not subject to the same protections. Even when a QB leaves the pocket but still wants to pass, he loses some of the protections of the rule he receives if he stays in the pocket.

Based on those calls, EVERY sack could get flagged. The only question remaining for the next round of QB rules changes is whether to go with flags or two hand touch.

I actually think Parsons for the most part sacks the way the league wants it. He usually gives the quarterback a bear hug. The problem is when the quarterback scrambles and ducks. Remember Dak’s first sack of Herbert. The referees should just blow the whistle and call the quarterback down.:omg::laugh:

Extremely important information here because NFL officials really suck.

I expect Goodell to offer Angel Hernandez a contract any day now.

The KC call was correct by the rule, I don't blame the ref for that one.
