Refs at it again

For anyone that watched the game the refs gave a HORRIBLE spot on a clear first down catch to JuJu Schuster late in the game. It was even reviewed and they got it wrong.

Point is. Officials suck and make bad calls.

The Steelers were jumping offsides all game... they figured only half would get called and they were right

The FGs were a perfect example of having nothing to lose.....the tried to ice the SD kicker but the Steeler actually jumped past the Kicker he was so far offsides
25 was past the Kicker when he struck the ball

NFL Officiating has been abysmal, most notably since their return from their brief hold out. The league better get serious about improving this entity because the game is suffering from the incompetence in legislating the games.

Exactly how I saw it.
Pittsburgh was going early, hoping the refs might waffle and not have the guts to call it (which, if you are playing for Pittsburgh, is not a bad strategy given their history of getting enormous help from the stripes)

The only shocking thing about yesterday was the officials willingness to actually flag the Steelers for the obvious and multiple offsides infractions at the end of the game. Someone needs to let Vinovich know that ain't how you roll when you are dealing with the Rooneys.

It isn't that they make bad calls.... they do....the Beasley spot.... the missed Kamara head shot.... it is that they wait to call a certain penalty until a huge spot in the game

The Dez catch was an overturn and the rule has since been changed back
The Butler Huddle flag was one that was never seen
The LP snap toggle was on the game winning FG
The Gregory call was several seconds late on a sack and turnover
Aaron Rodgers was allowed 10 secs to beat us in the playoff game when Irving got held by 2 guys out in the open

So are you in the conspiracy group? Lol the league is out to get us? Are they out to get the Steelers now?
You’ve joined in with the “conspiracy crowd”-those that use that word because of the connotations that go along with it.

I haven’t heard very many, if anyone, say there was an out right conspiracy. What I’ve heard and said is there is extrem inconsistency and possibly a bias.

Again, we’re the team that was called for the illegal procedure, illegal sub, the team that in two consecutive seasons had long streaks of no holds at all for 11 games and no holds on pass plays for 9?, the team with 5 of the total 30 no penalty games for the oppennnt since the year 2000, and the team that leads the league in penalties that result in ending a drive.

That all could very well be a coincidence. It’s clearly inconsistent so I like to discuss the possibility that some ref’s rulings may be subconsciously or otherwise swayed by bias. Disclaimer:I have no proof, but still enjoy discussing it.

This angers some and I’ll have to live with that. I’m also well aware that this thinking is thought of being a crybaby or sore loser or whatever and I’ll live with that too.

IMO the calls this year have been bad but have generally evened out. Last year was ridiculous though, if you watch the Chargers game there was a blantant hold on almost every big play Rivers had, then when Dak threw a go ahead score they called a phantom hold to bring it back with the flag being thrown after the score.

Also I searched for it and can't find it, but there was a great picture of an OT literally tackling Taco Charlton about five feet in front of a ref looking directly at it where there was no call. One of the most blantant holds you will ever see and there was absolutely no way the ref could have missed it.

Disagree.

Bad calls are made all the time in every situation. It only seems that way if it's a close game in the 4th quarter. It doesn't mean the refs waited to make a call during a critical time. Rather. It means they yet again made a bad call (or non-calls) during a close game in the 4th quarter.

The league really has to institute a new approach to holding refs accountable and putting only the best of the best on the field. Frankly, I thought it was rather refreshing to hear the league fired that ref earlier this season for poor officiating.

Back to back season we have gone 10 games without a holding call against us.....unpossible

:hammer:Thank you.

I think it's just there's so many things these guys have to worry about..what's a catch, what's a football move, what's a bad hit on a QB, defenseless receiver, etc, they can't recognize the basic penalty

Go on ahead, someone tell me the refs don't have an agenda.
I wouldn't say they have an agenda. Of course it's similar to what happened to us in the first skins game where the refs were obviously PLAYED by the skins coaches and they fell for it. So my guess is that they refs were told by the league to resist the temptation to fall for the banana in the tailpipe trick.

The Green Bay OL has been getting a head start for years

I figured after the Chargers false start TD against the Browns they (zebes) would keep an eye on it.

I guess not.

Glad the Chargers got the win.

That was just a brain fart ....it was so blatant everyone froze
