Regarding Demarco's Lack of Runs

Considering how well he was running, it IS pretty strange that he got so few carries. Unless...Garrett was thinking ahead. Knowing Murray was coming off an injury that likely limited his ability to run or ride the stationary, is it possible that Garrett went into this game wanting to save Murray for New Orleans?

Someone posted earlier that the Saints defense can be run on. Wondering if Garrett thinks that very thing and wants a VERY fresh Murray for that game. Murray was complaining about his lack of carries but I suspect he's going to get a major load this Sunday.

I dont know if JG had this in mind when he reduced the workload of Murray but its a good thing he did. I dont feel that Ivory is a better back than Murray and he had great success against New Orleans. In a perfect world Dallas will take an early lead and then run the hell outta Murray.

Or maybe Garrett was being even more sly than that. Not only did he want a fresh Murray, he wanted a pissed off one too. Angry Demarco is trouble for opposing defenses.

A report on Rotoworld.com says after Murray's 25 yard run in the first quarter, the Vikings sent a safety down into the box, and everytime Romo saw it he audibled to a pass play. I would hope the offense hasn't grown this predictable.

He ran for -2, 27, 6 and 0 yards. That's one great run, one good run and two bad runs. I don't think we can draw any conclusions about "how well he was running" from that. Of course, the second half of your sentence is still very very true.

The Cowboy press conference said that the Vikings are built to stop the run, that is why they went to the air.

Entering the game the Vikings ranked 28th against the pass and 21st against the run. They're really not built to stop anything.

Well, they damn near stopped the Cowboys on the run and the pass. lol

I'd like to believe that, but I seriously doubt it.

Garrett is no CIA Popovich.

I think this had something to do with Murray asking to come out of the game at one point. I don't think many coaches in this league like it when players decide to pull themselves out.

Running backs do that all the time. In fact, I'm guessing most are instructed to. Or maybe it did. Either way, mission accomplished. Murray is angry and he's going to take it out on some Saints.

Agreed.

I think this offense let defenses dictate to it.

I agree...

Did you see that last drive? They knew they needed this game and they went out and took it!

Why they don't think like that all the time is beyond me.

I've been wondering this same thing about Marco, Austin & Ware. Not necessarilly for New Orleans but later in the season..... Hopefully playoffs. I bet if we went into a downward spiral all 3 of them would get "healthy" real quick

I think they're getting very little help from the coaching.

If anything, I consider it a hindrance right now.

I wonder what Murray would say if we asked him?

Boy, if it's that obvious- why won't this coaching staff do something about it?

Don't they want to keep their jobs? Don't they want to win?

I just don't get it... It's quite upsetting to see perfectly smart people who do this for a living- are supposed to be amongst the best in the world at what they do- NOT GET IT.

And shame on Jerry for not getting it either.

Shame.

Because they don't want to turn the ball over, ever. Fear of the turnover leads to conservative, predictable offense.

That makes sense. But, one good thing is that the Cowboys found a way to finish a game. That was a start.
