That makes sense. But, one good thing is that the Cowboys found a way to finish a game. That was a start.

The offensive philosophy, to the extent that there is one, seem to be something like, "Just don't turn the ball over and we will win enough games to make the playoffs."

It makes sense to me. The defense already has, what 21..22 takeaways?

That helps the offense, big time. I don't know how many Int's Romo has thrown....6 or so?

Turnovers are killers, and but at the same time can save you.

I think this offense is forced to do that because our running game is poor.

I think our running game is poor because of our coordinators who can't and won't run it.

We will never run the football if we don't actually run the football.

When you've got Dez, Witten, and Terrance Williams going against that MIN secondary, I'm not sure why you'd spend much time running against an in-the-box S, anyway. Connecting on a few more of those downfield passes that were drops would have made the move well worth it. Dez looked to me like he'd possibly have scored on his dropped crossing route, for example. Williams inadvertent trip would have been another big play.

We aren't in a position to be game planning two weeks ahead. We need to be focused on winning the game each week.

If this was the reasoning then, I am glad we got the W, but it just goes to show how much Garrett over-thinks things and his inability to grasp the realities of this team.

Also, we may need Murray against New Orleans, but we need Romo even more and throwing the ball that many times is sure to get your quarterback mauled.

A report on Rotoworld.com says after Murray's 25 yard run in the first quarter, the Vikings sent a safety down into the box, and everytime Romo saw it he audibled to a pass play. I would hope the offense hasn't grown this predictable.

Dallas not only lets the defense dictate when it will run and when it will pass, it also lets it dictate where it will throw the ball.

Even on the last drive, the Vikings apparently changed up their defense, deciding to blitz more, which created some favorable matchups for Dallas. Of course, the Cowboys had some favorable matchups earlier in the game and just kept dropping the ball.

the excuses are getting ridiculous. We can't run the ball because there is 8 in the box, yet at the same time Dez is taken out of the game because they have a CB with safety help over the top, and Witten is being bracketed by a safety and a LB. Romo audibles out of the run when he sees 8 in the box, but yet all the receivers are double covered. Are defenses playing with 16 players against us?

The nature of the vertical offense is to go where they aren't via reads. So yeah the defense pretty much dictates where the ball is supposed to go.

It's somewhat comical that Dallas looks at it as "taking what the defense gives them" while the defenses that play Dallas feel they have succeeded in making the Cowboys one dimensional. You can beat the Vikings like that, but not any of the better teams in the league.

Exactly.

And that's why we don't beat any of the better teams in the league.
