It really was, a questionable decision at best.

Sometimes, I think Reid doesnt have the feel for the momentum of the game at a given point. Either that or he completely loses focus when they are down.

If the Birds had been stopping the Saints then it is not a bad move at all- 4th and 15 is a lot of wood to chop. You pin the Saints back, get the ball back if you stop them with 1:30 or so left in decent field position.
BUT that all pales besides the FACT that the Saints were running the ball right down Philthys throat and that trumps any other consideration.

Horrible call by Fat Andy.

Punting on 4th and 15, 1:44 to go, with only 2 time outs?

I think it's stupid.

Actually he should have it fresh in his mind, not to do this. you should know all about this.

The Commanders outplayed philly in december in washington. The skins down 21-16 on 4th and goal with around 2 minutes left kicked a field goal....I was sitting there watching the game laughing like what in the world.

Gibbs made a terrible decision and his offense never saw the ball again.

Now you would think andy reid with that fresh in his mind would never do the same type of thing, but he did. He turns into marty schottenheimer in big games....its too bad, andy reid is a good guy and a great coach. Terrible move and he is going to have to listen to it everyday until opening day in september.

I understand on one hand though he was putting belief in his guys on defense and telling them We believe in you, but still with the field position they had you cant punt.

As much as I hated that decision. At the time it made more sense than this. There was about 5 minutes or so left in the game. Plenty of time if the defense stepped up at any point. IIRC, it was a pass to Stallworth that killed the Commanders within that last Eagles drive.

What the coach should be doing is ignoring the sheet, whatever happened in any other game, etc. Only make the decision based on what was happening in THIS game, in THIS quarter. AND the Eagles D was getting plucked by the Saints O line and running game. THAT cancels out ANY other consideration.

I was shocked by the decision. The E-Gal defense wasn't going to get the ball back for the offense.
