Tolbert has produced every season small contributions in Year 1, more in Year 2, had a breakout 7tds in Year 3. That is nothing to sneeze at, you’re not going to have a WR step in and make noise right off the bat, sometimes it takes 3,/4, 5 yrs, and when you have a strong Wr room it could take some time before a player gets a real opportunity to shine. I would think people would remember Miles Austin, he got his real opportunity in his 4th season both WRs Austin and Tolbert are and were buried not getting much opportunities. Yes Tolbert plays a lot but he really doesn’t get much opportunities meaning Dak misses or doesn’t look his way when he’s open and he does be open. I love Dak I am a huge supporter but I am hard on him I say all the time that he gets stuck on his favorites, if he ever gets back to the point he was as a rookie and throws to whoever is open he will hit another level.
The difference between Tolbert and Austin.
Austin’s breakout came more dramatically because he went from backup to Pro Bowl WR1 overnight.
Tolbert’s rise has been steadier — he’s already ahead of Austin’s pace through Year 3 in terms of offensive integration and target consistency.
