The BIG DT we drafted to come in and stop the run. His words were along the lines of "I'm coming in here to stop the run, it's going to stop with me being here" only to be cut seasons later. I'm saying this because he was drafted to help stop the run, our run defense has been bad for how many years! There seems like there's no real way to stop it, or find players who can fit that role consistently. These off season must be about stopping the run!!

When your middle linebacker on 3rd and one is a 210lb safety and your other one is a 5ft9in 185lb corner and everyone is off the ball 8 yards no one is gonna stop the run. Go rewatch the game
All that is true but scheme is the biggest problem. You alluded to it. There is never a LBer filling a hole at the LOS or covering a RB in the flat or on screens. They are too busy backpedaling into spaces where nobody is. It’s really unexplainable to why the other team is always wide open and out guys always have two or three guys around them. I’ve been saying it for years. In big games it always appears we are playing 10 on 12 on both sides of the ball. That has to be scheme and being out coached.

Just wait until they play a REAL TEAM and we will see how bad we really were

Lol, point… got cut… he spent the entire season on a practice squad!

It’s the perfect mix of lack of talent at DT and lack of talent at LB. Good 1-2 punch of trash.

Yes you are correct.
That is Dan Quinn’s philosophy: gamble for turnovers and allow yards on the ground.

It boils down to the style of Def DQ runs. He has them pinning their ears back on every play with no help at the LB position. DLaw is our best run stopper on the line....that's why teams consistently ŕun towards Micha, who runs himself out of making the play needed.

Yes.

We're built to stop the pass.

Its a 4-2-5, but in reality, its a 3-3-5.

MIcah is always hunting for a sack.

Teams know how to beat it.

The only reason I am for Bill to become our next coach is that the first thing he would do is fix our trenches.

Swear it's been an issue all season, yesterday all I saw was number 11 running up the field on all plays

You said eight yards. How about ten?
Wide open spaces in the defensive backfield. The overhead views were unbelievable. Olsen had the nerve to mention tight coverage on one play, that the DB allowed release, cut and catch, and adding a few yards.
