Posters were also saying how the Cowboys should let Tyron walk. Now they have and those same people are whining about letting Tyron walk.
I think it was a much wiser decision to let Tyron walk than to pay him upwards to 20 million.

Even pre-injury, he was average. So...hopefully he can get back to being average.
He was still actually learning the position to get better pre injury.
Give him this season before an unqualified evaluation.

An offseason to work on his game and get stronger will be good for Steele. It's not easy to come off an ACL injury and be back to pre injury form after around 8 to 10 months.

Hoffman and bass might both start. Steele might be on the rise. I think he will be better.

Good thing they locked up Steele early. Got him cheap.

They give a guy like him top money, and early just so they can pat themselves on the back, yet they won’t spend they required money for a proven veteran that fills a clear gaping hole.

Yeah, we have a chance here….

For sure. But every year they have a few guys we hate on due to contract. Doug Free, Zeke, Collins, Pollard, Gallup
I don't hate on the players, I hate on management for bad contracts.

One problem with Jerry lately has been signing too many guys coming off major injury so that we're getting poor play in the first year of their contract and then still have to just hope they regain form the following year.

Here's hoping on Steele this year.

This up coming season will define him as either returning to form or being another Gallup. Our first two picks have to address Lt and center.

A few short months ago posters on this forum were calling for a replacement at RT. Steele struggled at times. But with the departure of Tyler Biadasz and Tyron Smith the questions becomes "What now?" Do the Cowboys need three new OL players or just two? Has Steele became a strength rather than a weakness?
Very well thought out thread, obviously

Yes, if youre nearly blind in one eye and you take out your other normal eye on purpose, you have made your remaining eye your “strength”

You would be a moron and a complete buffoon of course, but you will have succeeded in making your weakness your strength by this idiotic act

Tyler Smith takes over LT promote Bass to starting guard and take Jackson Powers Johnson round one as your new center out of Oregon a big time successful program . Matin & Steele round out your new retooled line . By any stretch of the imagination the OL under performed in 23 . Then round 3 look again at OL .

We will have to hope that he is getting better after his injury and this year will be back to normal, which was average....but better than some others on the line and seemed to work well with Zack. Already two holes to fill in C and either LG or LT, depending where they put Tyler. This needs to be addressed in the top 3 rounds of the draft. Bass and Hoffman might surprise, again..let's hope.

Waletzco & Ball swing and a miss . After taking your center round one take a tackle early in the draft . Terrence Steele is not long term .

Jackson Powers Johnson is long gone by 24

I was thinking if he was an available and Dallas got a fortunate round one unfolding .
See what price moving up might cost . A dominating center what the offense needs .

Steele was an excellent runblocking RT and an above average pass blocking RT. You can win with him; just make sure you understand his limitations in pass blocking and plan accordingly
unfortunately that is something the Boys in several different scenarios with several different players never seemed to do
If in a game a player is not doing well, adjust. I cannot remember the last time on the O line that we did something like that. If your tackle, either one, is having problems pass blocking help him out or run plays that help him out. We never seemed to do that
