Remember this name Jimmy Clausen

That's a coup for Notre Dame.

Not only do they get the #1 QB prospect in the country, but they locked him in early so he can help them recruit by convincing his talented peers to go to ND as well. "Come to Notre Dame. The top QB in the country will be throwing you the ball (or handing it off or making you look good as a lineman or giving you offense support if your a defensive player).

He's not even the best player on his team. They have a running back named Marc Tyler who's going to USC.

KD, I live in Texarkana, so I've gotten to see Ryan Mallet play a lot. He's as good as advertised!

I would kill (a skin or Filthy fan) to see Mallet play in person right now.

Batman and TrickBlue you guys are lucky!

Now we're talking about high school QBs?

Ya know the other day I saw this qb just decimate the opposition and scored 6 tds. Best 10 year old pee wee qb I've ever seen.

Did you know that Chris Leak was offered a scholarship in the 8th grade? :)

ur right :) point being is he already 19 and will be 20 when he is a freshman.

In class right now and having to sneak posts in. :)

He'll be even older. Charlie Weiss will agree to coach Dallas and Jimmy will transfer, forcing him sit out a year.

JUST KIDDING!!!

Well, if that's true, you can bet your butt that the eagles will draft him!

Parcells is pretty set with quarterbacks

Hopefully he's got a better arm than his brother Casey "The Noodle" Clausen

He's supposedly alot better than his older brothers Casey and Rick. I hate Notre Dame, so I hope he isn't.

BTW, 41-7 :D

Come on, let the kid finish puberty before you start giving him Brady Quinn amounts of hype.

Just wanted to add that UM added the best qb in this years class Ryan Mallet out of Texas, who is the next Drew Bledsoe.

6'7 230lbs big arm and accurate, but is slow as hell.

Come to think of it not sure being the next DB is such a good thing? :/

Yeah, ridiculous talent, needs to get better agility. Perfect fit for Michigan---and he WILL play on Sundays if he stays healthy. Watched him twice this year already---whew, he's great.

Yeah, I'm there in Texarkana too---man, that kid is good. He possesses the leadership skills necessary too...He is out there pumping up the O, the D, and even special teams. A fun kid and school to watch play.

Ever hear of someone named Ron Powlus. He was supposed to be the next great QB. He was ok, nothing more. Now maybe the poor coaching ND had at the time was the real reason, but I doubt it.

Ron Powlus didn't have Charlie Weis coaching him. Weis' resume speaks for itself when talking QB's.

He will be a 20 year old freshman, 24 before he graduates, and a 25 year old rookie qb in the NFL.

This is true. The Claussen's started all 3 of their kids late in school. I don't really recall exactly why.

I saw a piece on ESPN last year where they showed Clausen at a football camp. The guy who headed the camp had worked with alot of top QBs whose names I can't remember now although I know Matt Leinart was one of them. This guy said that Clausen was the best he had ever seen at this stage of his development.Take that for what it's worth. His brother Casey was a standout QB at Tennessee by the way.
