Remember when that practice roof collapsed

Remember Howdy Doody?

Remember when Micheal Irvin stabbed a teammate with scissors over a haircut? That was crazy, huh?

Ahhhhh, yes member berries. The Cowboys probably have more memorable moments (good and bad) than any other sports franchise in the history of the world.

I'll throw one out there: Member the "Troy Aikman is gay" rumor. I always assumed it originated from haters that couldn't wrap their mind around how much trim he actually got. (and probably still does) FTR....Steve Young had to deal with the same BS.

Remember that great 2009 HOF Draft Class....

3/69 - Jason Williams, MLB, Western Illinois
3/75 - Robert Brewster, OT, Ball St.
4/101 - Stephen McGee, QB, Texas A&M
4/110 - Victor Butler, OLB, Oregon St.
4/120 - Brandon Williams, DE/LB, Texas Tech
5/143 - DeAngelo Smith, CB, Cincy
5/166 - Michael Hamlin, S, Clemson
5/172 - David Buehler, K, USC
6/197 - Stephen Hodge, SS/LB, TCU
6/208 - John Phillips, TE, Virginia
7/227 - Mike Mickens, CB, Cincy
7/229 - Manuel Johnson, WR, Oklahoma

BPA would have saved that draft. They had LeSean McCoy ranked as a first round pick but passed on drafting him in the 2nd round.

I remember, back in the70's, honestly believing the Cowboys would win the SB every year.

Remrmber that time Mike Sherrard kicked the back of his own leg running in training camp and pretty much ended his career? That was bad.
Didn't he break it a second time jogging in sand?

Remember when Dallas couldn't draft worth a **** and wasn't the best drafting team in the league?
Remember though, that's it's certainly not due to McClay arriving on the scene at that time...some like to believe that after 20+ years of fail that the improved drafts are due to Jerry finally "getting it".

Always wondered what happened to that guy. He was NORS level at some points.

The fact that Nors is still infamous more than 10 years (I'm estimating) after he was last seen in these parts suggests that he occupied a level all his own. But yeah, it's good to find out what became of Romo2Austin

No, it's not Jerry. It is McClay, Stephen, and Garrett.

Good point. Romo2 Austin was/is actually a decent dude. He was just young and was quick to spar with people that knew ten times more about the game than he did. He's a Cowboy fan at heart and that's all that really matters, TBH.

Actually if you get technical, the recent draft successes are a direct result of Jerry "getting it". He, rather through coercion or self analysis, realized that there are people that are better at talent evaluation and acquisition. He was smart enough to set his ego aside and let those particular people do their jobs (you know, like real GM). If people want to saddle Jerry with all the failures (which absolutely has merit), at least have the balls to give him credit when things start moving in the right direction, regardless of his level of involvement, because at the end of the day, whether you like it or you don't, Jerry (to this day) makes the final call.

If people don't have the intellectual honesty to admit that, then they are just being a douchebag for the sake of being a douchebag. (for the record, that comment is not attributed directly at you, cowboy_ron)

Remember when we thought Drew Henson was gonna solve all Dallas problems. That was crazy huh

Too me. Ole Jerry boy, the businessman, realised his bluff was finally going to cost him financially , similiar to his hiring of the Tuna. So, he had to make changes and at the same time save face and protect his miserable ego. He has been forced to accept a lesser role and allow real football people to finally make the decisions. Its not to his credit...it was a business decision he has been forced to make.

Remember when the NFL decided to go full on free agency right in the middle of our Dynasty run?

Bastids.
