Remembering Stevie Ray Vaughan who was killed in a helicopter crash 30 years ago today

I was lucky enough to see him about 6 weeks before he died at Waterloo Village in Stanhope NJ, he put on an amazing show.

Saw him at a small show in Temple. So small Duke Jupiter was his opening act.

His stage was simple a few guitars on stand a couple pedals plugged into a Fender
Twin that was mic'ed up.

Couldn't Stand the Weather was recently out.

We were dead center stage about 6 standing rows back. I was blown away by the
shear force of his playing, sometimes almost violent.

During Tin Pan Alley he sat of the edge of the stage and we got close as we could.

There he was pouring everything he had into that guitar for a small show in Temple Texas.

Been a huge fan ever since.
