I'd agree with you if it wasn't... SO SUCCESFFULL!!!!

:bang2:

I saw a list of teams that have run the wildcat this year, and we average over 5 yards per attempt. Not too shabby.

Heck with it....call it the Cowboy Formation.

Tashard runs it more than anyone at this point and time, with the ball anyway. Call it the Wild Jacket or something.

Dallas averages 5+ per carry no matter what. I haven't been too impressed with it. I don't think they have really tried to throw from that formation yet other than a play where a flag killed the play before it started and the only reason why I think they were going to throw on that play was because Romo was motioning back towards Choice. Don't remember what commentator but someone pointed out that Romo darted upfield at the snap to try and disguise what was really happening.

I guess if that's the formation that Jason wants to run from, run it a little more but as far as being a formation that other teams are really focusing on, I can't see it.

Definitely not worth the Area 51 secrecy treatment it received in camp.

Perhaps, but we average 6+ yards/rushing attempt (at least before the GB game). Calling the "razorback" more than once in a game is dumb. Calling it once is silly.

You are retired? Work at the jail library?

Lets just get rid of it altogether. Its a dumb style play that does not fit this team. Its almost like we just decided to do it because a lot of other teams were getting ESPN time because of it.

Right, it's not like it's a trick play or gadget play, eveyone in the entire universe knows what is going to happen.....

If anything, call it for what it really is...A DIRECT SNAP TO THE RB!

Gets my vote. We could also go with the "Zipadee-Doo-Dah" formation, which is more musical.;)

I hate you for putting that dumb tune in my mind. ;)

That is exceptional. But at first glance i thought you were putting up your family tree for our benefit. :)

So successful? Yeah, its been a real staple of the offense.

TC gets the direct snap and slams it home behind a pulling Leonard Davis. It's worked every time on short yardage.

Success defined.

It's called the Razorback because it came from the Arkansas Razorbacks with David Lee as the offensive coordinator who is now the QB coach for Miami I believe (also our former QB coach).

Also it was originally run by Felix Jones and Darren McFadden, and Jones is on our team. It's not a tribute to Jerry.

Wrong

Arthur Gustav Malzahn III (born October 28, 1965) is the current offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach for Auburn University. Malzahn is a high school coaching legend in the state of Arkansas and the former offensive coordinator at both Arkansas and Tulsa. He is known as one of the innovators of the wildcat offense and has been described as "one of the sport's most innovative offensive minds, not just in the college ranks, but in all of football

Malzahn joined Houston Nutt's staff on December 9, 2005, as offensive coordinator and wide receivers coach,[3] following an impressive five-year run at Springdale High School capped by one of the most dominant seasons by any high school in 2005. Given that much of Springdale High's football talent decided to follow Mr. Malzahn to Arkansas and the fact that Mr. Malzahn had never coached in college, many questioned what Houston Nutt's motives were. Malzahn was part of the Razorbacks 2006 season in which they won the SEC Western Division championship. However, their season ended with three straight losses to LSU, Florida in the SEC Championship Game, and Wisconsin in the Capital One Bowl to finish with a 10-4 record.
There was a widely reported tension between Houston Nutt's reliance on the ground game (which turned out to be one of the best running games in the nation in 2006) and Malzahn's philosophy of spreading the field with a no-huddle offense. The poor ending of the season only added stress to the already tense coaching relationship. Malzahn was named the National Offensive Coordinator of the Year by Rivals.com.
