Is Gruden the answer? Get rid of Callahan and let him be in total control of the offense. Promote Rod to defensive coordinator.

Gruden isn't going somewhere where he doesn't have near total control.

He got shipped out of Oakland by Jerry Jones Sr. (Al Davis) after going 40-28 with the Raiders and getting them to a Superbowl.

He absolutely isn't going to go back to a club where the owner is going to sabotage him left and right.

No.

Why would any coach step into this mess? A good coach would only come here if he has control over the terrible jones family starting from day one in the offseason. That is why we got wade Phillips and Jason garrett after parcells left. That is why parcells said once I am gone it will be like I was never there.

The jones's do what they want. Bottom line and nobody with a real career or anyone who knows how to run a franchise properly would ever agree to work with the jones family unless they agreed to step aside like 03.

that is why we have had to watch barry switzer, chan gailey, dave campo, wade Phillips and Jason Garrett. There isn't a real head coach in the entire group. Its all just people who will work within the jones family parameters.

its the same in Washington and was the same in Oakland, just people willing to work under the insane paramters of the horrendous owners pretending to be football people.

and by the way on gruden, I imagine he sees a place like Washington, Tennessee, Houston as better places to step in if they have coaching changes.

Our only hope of change is that this team gets ripped every week the rest of the way and the jones family has to surrender. That's it.

if there were a way to rally the fans here to not attend the turkey day game that would get a point across but all those tickets are scalped and people go to the game every year as an event and holiday tradition.

maybe a stadium full of empty seats versus philly to finish it off would get the point across.

I am pretty sure I am not going to go to any of the final three games and I am not going to sell my tickets either, I want my seat to be empty.

Maybe Gruden as HC and Lovie Smith as DC? Wasn't a big Gruden fan but he is more aware of a coach than Garrett. Oh and this is next year obviously.

What is a replacement coach going to do at this juncture of the season? Nothing..

What? Would the clouds part and the sky get all nice and blue with a replacement coach? All the stars would align?

And , just what is Chucky boy going to do in Dallas other than annoy me even more than he does on MNF every week.

What next? Get Cowher? Heck, we complain about Jones overpaying washed up vets yet, some want him to bring in washed up coaches.

Gimme a break.

Nevermind the fact that most of the players, I believe like Garrett and like playing for him. No, the time to get rid of Garrett is right at 0:00 on the game clock , week 17.

Not sure how this can happen with so many season ticket holders paying a hell of a lot of money for their seat licenses. Jerry knew what he was doing; he got everyone's cash upfront. The man is a snake oil salesman.......

Because coaches like challenges? Thats pretty much what the job is.

I do agree though that no one serious is gonna take it without being given control, but there are a slew of coaches, that, given control, would want the DC HC job.

Breaking News: Cowboys agree on a 5 year, $75 mil deal with Safety Jeff Heath. "We finally found the next Darren Woodson." - Jerry Jones

I think Gruden was pretty clear about his feelings dealing with coaching the Cowboys. He was very interested in the position when Garrett was hired. I think Gruden is one of a few that still considers the HC position in Dallas as a once in a lifetime opportunity. I don't think there are many coaches that feels this way anymore. The string of coaches that has followed Jimmy is very telling to me. Jerry doesn't want anybody in the HC position that may take away from his time in the spotlight and there are not many top coaches that want the hassle of Jerry's ego to deal with.

I am ready to shake things up. Bring in Gruden! This season is trash anyway. Maybe he can turn things around in a hurry.

Id prefer Cowher... but im guessing people here arent big on the 3-4. In that case id want lovie. grab a creative O coordinator, promote Marinelli to DC. guys that KNOW what theyre doing. Im also in favor of trading our old horses in for draft picks. .500 ball isnt getting us anywhere. Let Ware and Witten go to greener pastures. Turn those picks into Olinemen. Theres different ways to come back, but Jerry has to pick one (that makes sense) and stick with it.

Either way i want a more creative, younger coach who isnt afraid to call the tough shots in charge of our O.

Jerry is clearly a huge part of this franchise's on-field problems for a number of reasons. I think that's hard to dispute. But the longer range problem is his legacy. Someday, Jerry will pass from this Vale of Tears. Assuming his family can keep the team (he'll have a large estate tax bill to pay, but I assume he's planning for that), what happens?

I think what will happen is that Stephen becomes the new Jerry -- devoted to control, perhaps with a less intrusive ego, but still unwilling to give up the reins of GM that he will inherit. And sometimes, a GM simply has to be replaced. Ideas and approaches and philosophies go stale. It happens with head coaches, and it happens with GMs. And if an ineffective GM can't be replaced...well, we're watching the results of that in real time.

that's exactly right. It is rigged. People like myself pay a psl and for tickets.

that is why I said I wouldn't sell my ticket or go to the game, that is the only way to have an empty seat.

I will lose 300 bucks If I do this...

gruden is one of the guys who would work in Washington or Dallas and I think that is because he is not that good.

I don't think much would change with the jones family picking players and keeping their faces on tv and then having Jon Gruden try to control all of that on a day to day basis.

it needs to be a jimmy, parcells, reid, bellichick type.....or in a perfect world that type in the front office picking the staff and creating a normal structure.

Cowher. He is the only guy with the gravitas to take over and rebuild this thing.

If we are going to bring back retired coaches to save us why not just go to the man himself?

Garrett isn't going anywhere. We are stuck with him
