we went from
Collins/Woods/Covington/Hill
to
McCoy/Poe/Woods/Gallimore/Hill
that’s absolutely an upgrade imo.
He has good size, strength and hustle. Kind of reminds me of Jason Ferguson. Would have been a much more valuable player 10 years ago. I think we can get 250 to 300 quality snaps from him if we have to. I don't think he will see that much thoughWhat I do know is, when Woods was out of the lineup the team was bad against the run and had a losing record in those games. As a rotational backup, he provides solid depth at the position.

He's a backup 1T so he'll probably get 10-15 snaps a game, tops.He is 1000% a JAG. I wouldn't call him a bum.
I think he was the best 1T we could expect under Rod, who just really did not appreciate that spot.
For the new staff, he is a decent rotational piece to back up Poe.

The new staff has just begun the makeover of the defense. Appears they believe Gallimore more as a 3, at most point they will find a long-term solution at NT.

We have two aging veteran bandaids starting inside to go along with no weak side rusher and the supposed leader mailing in last season. Behind them is a guy with a spine issue that could end his career at anytime, a gimp who can't change directions and a vet on his last legs who could never stay healthy in the first place.
I'm not feeling real nasty. Unless you mean it in a different way.
Wouldn't call it nasty. Probably closer to average
It's been speculated that his best spot is at 3T, but OK, mostly played him at the 1T. And, I am not sure if the Cowboys have said yet.Woods is clearly only a 1T, but I've read different things about Gallimore - is he a 1T or 3T?
Trysten Hill is a 3T that was given reps at 1T, but he is clearly the 5th DT at this point. I'm wondering if they have really said where Gallimore plays.
Woods miss twice as many games to last two years as Collins has his whole career
You have them confused again. Collins was the disruptive one. He had the 4th highest pass rush win rate of any defensive tackle in the NFL. Woods is just a run pluggeryou may be right I forgot about that neither of them are stellar but I like woods more. More disruptive imo

Wasnt even close to 6 yards a carry. Dont know where you got that figure fromeven that to me is an improvement, especially the interior tackles. we gave up 6 yards a carry last year. if we could get that closer to 5.0 i think we could make a run at the playoffs.
Yep. I give McCoy and Poe two years.
This year, we found our 3T of the future (I hope) in Gallimore and next year we find our 1T of the future.
According to the stats in NFL.com we gave up 4.1 yards per carry last year. That's actually pretty solid. No team gave up 6.even that to me is an improvement, especially the interior tackles. we gave up 6 yards a carry last year. if we could get that closer to 5.0 i think we could make a run at the playoffs.
substitute "understand" for "appreciate".I think he was the best 1T we could expect under Rod, who just really did not appreciate that spot.
