Report: Cowboys expect Tony Romo to return Week 7
It looks like the Dallas Cowboys had a planned pre-cooked which is what led them to not place quarterback Tony Romo on injured reserve.
It's being reported by Jason La Canfora of CBS Sports that the four-time pro bowler is expected by to full action after Week 6. With Week 7 being the Cowboys' bye, it will give Romo an additional week of preparation being setting out to face the hated Philadelphia Eagles.
Here's more insight on the report:
Romo should be cleared for further physical activity in another week and intends to travel with the Cowboys while rehabbing from the injury (another indication his back is improving, as air travel, even on a luxury charter flight, can be difficult). He is getting treatment around the clock, including the use of a hyperbaric chamber, and the Cowboys remain fully committed to him as their starter while promising rookie Dak Prescott takes over in a caretaker role.
Initial speculation surrounding Romo's L1 compression fracture had a worst case scenario of 10 weeks sidelined, but he looks to be healing rapidly and the team doctors expect no lingering issues whatsoever.
