Report: Eagles likely to switch to Foles for Monday Night Game

Wow. Saw it coming, but that's still a pretty bold move.

That is a good game to make the switch. The Saints have a terrible defense.

But Foles doesn't get to face his own defense. :D

And the Eagles with all of their problems are not nearly as bad as the Saints on defense. The Eagles rank 12th in total points allowed, the Saints rank 29th. The Eagles rank 10th in total yards allowed, the Saints rank 31st. The only team to give up more yards are the Titans who have played 1 more game than the Saints. A mere 47 yards separate the two teams. The Eagles rank 11th in yards allowed per play. The Saints rank 32nd.

I would say facing the Saints is not the worst thing for a rookie QB to be asked to do. He may make typical rookie mistakes, but that poor Saints defense will allow Foles some opportunities to make plays.

No being a hater, but does this mean they're throwing the season? It's still a very winnable division for all the teams. The Giants don't look as good as their 6-2 records suggests. It might be the smart move for the future, but this basically means they're forfeiting the season. I think they have too much talent to throw in the towel this early.

No because they might actually protect him by running the football and run screens rather than have Vick making plays for them.

People want to talk about bad coaching. Eagles have the most talent on defense in the league and have been awful for two years.

It's the only way Reid can save his job...

Their 3 wins are by a combined total of 4 points... and more are coming...

Reid can hang his losses on a QB change and maybe salvage his job...

Why would be even want to save his job? He just tragically lost his son and it's been a circus the past few years in Philly. If I was him I would take a year or two off and start fresh. He would get a head coaching job in 10 minutes if he wanted to come back.

Let me explain something to you.

Foles was able to perform as a 3rd string QB in preseason. Now he will be asked to go on the road in the Superdome on Monday Night Football with high expectations which spells disaster.

Keep in mind when he played in preseason there was no expectations

More likely, he's relying on a rookie to get him some wins. I think that's the only thing that salvages his job at this point, and not really even that.

A change of scenery is in order for Andy Reid at this point, given everything that's gone on in his life this last year. I wish him good luck, and good riddance. Go bother some fans in the AFC for the next 3-5 years. :)

Are people not realizing that when Foles played the games didn't count? LOL

Now he would be playing on Monday Night Football inside the dome? I refuse to believe Andy reid is that dumb

Oh I agree... but there are only 32 HC in the NFL and he may never get another chance, though I think he would...

Also, with the QB change. If this new qb actually performs, they can say that it was Vick that wasn't good for the Eagler and not Reid.

As a result, it might help Reid to stay in Philly for another year.

Most eagles fans want Reid to stick with Vick so that they both can be gone and the new coach can start with Foles at QB next season
