Report: Eagles likely to switch to Foles for Monday Night Game

Their defense looked fine twice this season, especially in the dome

What two times were that? Their defense gave up 427 yards and 24 points to the Chargers and 513 yards and 28 points to the Bucs. New Orleans won both games, but it wasn't because their defense looked fine. And the Saints have already lost two games in the dome this year. They gave up 510 yards to the Chiefs who average 367 yards a game. I am in no way guaranteeing an Eagles win, but this is the defense you would be okay with letting a rookie QB face.

This is Andy Reid doing whatever thing he can to hope to spark a turn around and save his job.

Fire the DC.
Bench the starting QB

He is throwing a hail mary and hoping something changes to save his job.

He must REALLLLY be feeling the pressure.

I think for years he was teflon and would do whatever he wanted without fear of repercussions...these moves seem to me that he is no longer teflon and might be the opposite where he feels everything is sticking to him.

I agree. These are the desperate actions of a desperate man. He's scared he's going to get canned and the clock is ticking.

My point is there are no GIMMIE GAMES for the eagles because they have no defense either and the saints have the better QB who will be inside the dome

Who couldn't see this coming? Vick is one of the most overrated players in the league.

I didn't say there were any gimme games. I don't even think that the fact they are facing the Saints impacted the decision. I do think that the timing is right for making the change since the Saints defense is horrible. It would probably be a good choice to pull Vick even if they were facing the best defense in the NFL this weekend.

The way Foles performed in the PS I'm surprised they didn't go to him sooner. I'm afraid they may have found them one with this guy. Time will tell, but it should have happened sooner IMO.

At least they are trying and firing, etc. We keep doing the same things over and over and hoping we don't make any mistakes.

Preseason performance determines how good someone will be in regular season?

No, of course it doesn't. Vick's performance over 10 years in the NFL determines he won't be good enough the rest of this regular season. That is more significant than the unknown Foles brings to the table.

I think we'll see Foles' debut against the Cowboys a week later.

He showed well in the PreSeason and is probably the better QB, on the lite brite side, rather have em in his 1st start than his 2nd.

I doubt, another story came out around 5pm saying they are sticking with Vick. I think as long as Vick don't turnover the ball he will keep his job, win or lose

They may pull Vick but I doubt it last long before they put him back in.

I knew Andy Reid was not dumb enough to start a guy who never played a preseason game in that loud superdome on national TV.

That would have made no sense

Doesn't matter IMO. Vick will implode, along with the rest of that team.

Right, making a move to Foles right now sends the message that you think he can save the season and that's just foolish. That would have confirmed he was listening to the fans and not making his own decisions

People want to talk about bad coaching. Eagles have the most talent on defense in the league and have been awful for two years.

Sounds like us....:bang2:

No it does not. But from what I saw, Foles looks like a player. Instincts, ability to run the offense, etc. Vick is a bum. His window has closed.
