lol....funny wonder where all the self-righteous blow hards in the media now who kept pointing to the Giants as the poster children for how you handle someone like Burress.
That and the media doesn't talk to much about the Giants record after the Plaxico incident.

if Plaxico might get another chance, then why not give Pacman another chance here in Big D?

No, say it ain't so? I thought the Giants were the model for getting rid of thugs, and bad apples, cause they had the guys who were just so much more mentally tough, and sound, and they could just go on and win without him?

Ha.

Actually, they did do the right thing. While the accident itself rendered Burress unavailable 4-6 weeks, by suspending Burress, the team took a stand that it wouldn't pay him for the remainder of the year.

Furthermore, there's a difference between suspending a player pending a criminal investigation and receiving a player after he is legally exonerated.

Many teams (if not most teams) would receive a star player who was legally exonerated, especially if the crime is self-inflicting where only the player gets hurt.

Everyone's ready to jump on the NY Giants, but all the Giants said is they would consider him back provided he get his legal situation straight. I suspect he's going to do some time because it appears the case against him is pretty air-tight. Then again, even O.J. beat an open-and-shut case. ;)

I'd be shocked if he got a prison or even a jail sentence. He accidentally shot himself in the leg...and the issue is that he was carrying a gun without a license. That screams "plea bargain for probation" to me.

I respect your opinion, Tyke, but I firmly believe the Giants would not have suspended him had he not shot himself and thereby rendered himself unable to play (ie. if the firearm was just discharged but not hit him). I believe they would have said to presume him innocent until the judicial system had its say and, in the meantime, let him play. JMHO.

Fair enough. That's a good assumption based on what other teams have done.

And it's not far-fetched to think that teams give stars major lattitude while average Joes get the axe.

Which is why i laugh when i hear idiots in the media praise the Giants or any other team for bein "classy" because you know every team either they already know it now or they will eventually learn that in the end nothing but winning matters! No team is classy they just want to win and make money. They way to do that is to win!!! Even the fans that praise them for being a "classy" organization eventually will turn on the team if they dont start producing. Like with the Giants you think that if they hadnt won the SB last year that they would have suspended Burress??? Of course not but cause they won it bought them a little bit of time with the fans until they turn on the organization again. Its funny i was on a Giants message board and a lot of the same people that were proud of how the team handled the Burress problems are now blasting the organization as idiots for suspending their best player haha although i dont think he would have been able to play though! Sure dont get me wrong i wish every team was full of great classy players with the organazation valuing that over anything else but thats just bull maybe in the past that happened but not anymore!

Plaxico has always been kryptonite to the Eagles blitz. I can't count how many times the Eagles have come after Eli and he throws up a prayer in Plaxico's general direction. He always comes down with it.
