If that is the case they are going to anger a bunch of people, and you can count on me buying a PS4 over Xbox 720 or whatever they call it.

I'm just curious because I know that I won't be buying either one of them any time soon after they come out. I've only had my XBox 360 for just under 3 years now and I don't see any real reason to change anytime in the foreseeable future.

ChldsPlay;5046043 said:Basically it means you have to be online in order for the games to run, so if you don't have the internet, or if it goes out or isn't stable, you're SOL. It's a method to combat piracy.

Yes I will not buy one ever if that is the case.
MonsterD;5046069 said:It is basically your specific console and the specific I.D. of the game being in constant communication with the game makers and or console company's server. That allows them to have data monitoring which can be used to make sure it is not either hacked/pirated or even a rental(different game than what you own) being played. This completely destroys the rental gaming industry. Also you could not just play your friend's game in your console, ever.
Nomad;5046073 said:The newest Sim City game released for PC (and a few other PC games) were set this way where you had to log in to the EA server to play. It ended up a complete mess because the EA servers were down when it launched, and people have unstable internet connections, so there were a lot of complaints. The game was basically unplayable.
Microsoft should learn from this.
