Report reveals Cowboys’ stance on Dak Prescott contract
May 31, 2024
by Grey Papke

Dak Prescott and the Dallas Cowboys have not fully committed to each other in recent public comments, but the Cowboys do not have any real doubts privately about their quarterback.

ESPN’s Jeremy Fowler said on Friday’s “NFL Live” that the Cowboys remain “all-in” on re-signing Prescott, and fully intend to prevent the quarterback from becoming a free agent in 2025.

They have said all offseason that they are saving cap money to resign CeeDee, Dak, and Parsons. I believe the slow process is to keep the Cowboys in the media cycle. Unfortunately Jerry does not understand how to get the Cowboys in the NFCCG but he is a master at clicks and marketing.

When the masses realize Jerry is about money first they will understand the reality of our Dallas Cowboys. The winning tradition is a distant afterthought to revenue generation.

This is the Joneses reacting to all the negativity from the fans. It is meaningless chatter.
Yeah, no matter which side you are on with this, I would not put much weight behind "inside sources" because it's too easy right now with the lack of official comments on the subject to throw random guesses out there as "my sources" or "inside sources".

Most of the people saying those things are hoping that they guess right and get credit for it later or if they guess wrong then most people will forget about it by the time the real news comes out.

Being all in on resigning Dak means they are also all in on maintaining their mediocre status. Great time to be a fan....
Maybe. Maybe not.

But those expecting a “full blown rebuild!” Were never going to get it.

Do yourself a favor and look at the Free Agent QB class next year and the draft class. If you don’t get Ewers it’s a weak class. They aren’t wasting two years waiting for a QB.

They will wait. Sign Dak and Lamb to max contracts as they’ll be the last to sign. Nothing different was ever expected to happen. People thinking it will do not know this front office

Before you Debby downers and anti Dakkers get yall panties in a wad I don’t think this confirms anything we didn’t know. He still doesn’t have a deal…..until then you guys keep hope alive. There’s still a cheese your prayers will be answered. And who knows maybe Dak will be for one who leaves?

They just hoped and prayed. Deep inside I think most knew they just wanted something to argue.

All they are interested in are regular season wins. And so are most of the fans. That also keeps the Cowboys in the news.

They don't need cap space to sign Dak or Lamb. They would need cap space if they wanted to extend Parsons this year.

I'm not in the group that thinks this is Dak's last year in Dallas. He will get another ridiculous contract he doesn't deserve and the team will continue to fall flat on their face against the top teams. It is what it is.

That’s pretty much all we can do as fans. We know it’s going to play out this way

All we can do is watch, pray for the best and hope for lightning in a bottle

so let me get this straight, this is a no new news story, nothing's changed? something we've already discussed? just another thread on the same stuff.

literally this has happened all over the NFL Tua, chase, Jefferson, ayuk, HIGGENS, and others to name few..,

the DC are NOT the only ones who take time to negotiate and again there's an agent of player and an ownership involved you blame the ownership without any and i mean any inside knowledge on what the hold ups ARE?? HMM JONES HATER SIDES WITH PLAYERS, GOT IT...

but ihe innocent agents and players get a pass because sure let's just give them an open check let them fill in the contract themselves and just sign LMAO!!

no big deal, concede, overpay, and get a disappointing return, makes total business sense vs trying to get the best deal possible in a HARD salary cap league...
