This falls in line with what most of the local noise has been from the Star, Dak and beat writers.

The fact it hasn’t been done yet is the only factor which is supporting the naysayers.

should the Chargers have dumped Dan Fouts? Should the Dolphins dumped Marino after year 10?

Change for the sake of change..... sounds like a winner.
Marino made it to a SB his 2nd year. You guys need to stop holding up contender QBs to Dak and Romo. Romo never was a contender, and Dak is 99% likely not to be in his remaining years.

And yes, you don't want to hear this, but SD should have moved on from Fouts. He, like Dak and Romo, simply couldn't get it done when it mattered most.

Stephen is lazy and unskilled for the duties of his title.

Jerry is loyal, sentimental, and incredibly optimistic.

Of course they are going to resign Dak.

I don’t normally agree with Jethro but waiting “ to see where the leaves fall” on these other Franchise QB contracts appears sound negotiating tactic wanting to prevent setting the Market first.

Except that they have been consistently late with resigning their star players and get dogwalked by the players' agents.

They try to get cute and sign other players, who don't have an obvious market, ahead like Jaylon Smith and Terrence Steele, and end up overpaying midlevel talent.

They are very, very bad at this.

When the masses realize Jerry is about money first they will understand the reality of our Dallas Cowboys. The winning tradition is a distant afterthought to revenue generation.
Don’t let the door hit you in the *** on your way out.

It’s unbelievable the amount of hate for a guy who led the team to one of the best offenses in the league WITHOUT an NFL level running game. I laugh at their hate filled ignorance.

+1 ....this is something getting overlooked a bit IMO. Hell, I would argue Dak is more part of the holdup than Jerry. I mean how often a top 10 QB, in his prime, gets a chance to at the open market ....... choose his team to the highest bidder? Some are saying Jerry is giving Dak one more year to prove whether he's worthy of an extension.....well maybe it is Dak giving the Cowboys one more year.
I agree. He has options…

I CANNOT believe that Steeles 17 million salary for 2025 is already fully guaranteed.

That’s just ridiculous. Why agree to that?

SD did keep Fouts a little too long, but in year 8 and 9 Fouts led the Chargers to the AFC championship game.
Everyone back then knew their issue was on defense.

Cowboys defense was severely flawed last year as well as the offense. It’s shocking they won 12 games.
