Well, you know how these things go. Washington's FO is just letting everyone know that they have every intention of keeping Cousins in order to drive the price up. If the Commanders were desperate to get rid of him, no team would offer a high draft pick.

If a 2nd round pick is on the table, I don't see them refusing it.

To drive the price up Gruden should have made it clear RGIII was going to have to fight for his job.
