I would not rest any of them other than maybe the last half of the last game, if that game no longer matters.

I don't want to face a team that had to win the week before to play the Cowboys after the bye week in the playoffs with a bunch of Cowboy players that had barely played for 4-5 weeks. Only injured players rest.

Our 07 team had 13 days rest while the Giants had to play the wildcard round. Sometimes it's better to keep playing. You can't just flip a switch in the playoffs if you're not playing well you're going be in trouble. It's all about peaking at the right time.

Even contemplating resting players this early is blasphemous. This is the time of year to start peaking, not relaxing. The ONLY player you don't play normally is Zeke. Once HFA is locked up you don't run him for 20+ carries a game. Other than that, don't rush players back from injury and play to win.

I think momentum is important for this team. Maybe week 17 let Morris/DMC start 2nd half. Sit anyone with lingering injuries. Start anyone that needs to get some reps after being injured. But I think we need full steam ahead through week 16. We want to make sure we get HFA.

number 1 seed on 12/18. Do you think it's foolish for Garrett to rest the starters for the last two games or just the last game of the season? Because if the starters were resting for the 12/26 and 1/1 game that would be by time they played on 1/14 or 1/15, they would not have played for damm near a month. So I;m thinking the starters will only be out for that last game against the eagles.

Agree or Disagree?

I think his MO has been to play it out. To keep dudes sharp. Like against skins in 2014. But agree that some reserves would likely see 2nd half action in games that don't count against HFA. One caveat to that is we do have chance to set single season win record which would be pretty special (14 games). So that offers some additional incentive though of course we have our eyes on a bigger prize than that.

It would be crazy to sit players for the last two weeks. Maybe rest the injured players but not the starters.

Having essentially locked up the division and home field through the playoffs, the question will soon become when do we start resting players particularly Zeke, Dak, but also Witten, Bryant, Smith, Scandrick.

When do you put Claiborne back into action? With a week 1 bye, you could sit him for the next 5 weeks.

Do you rest Sean Lee?

Where do you balance rust versus fresh legs? With 10 days between the last game and the next, you could give significant rest time to quite a few players. Nearly 6 and a half weeks.

I'd rather keep momentum. Week 17, maybe you pull the starters after a quarter and a half, but assuming we beat the Giants, I want to make it very clear to the Bucs and Lions that they will not come into our house and win.

The other positive to clinching early is some of the players suffering from dings and nagging physical issues (e.g., OScan) can get a bit of a respite to be closer to 100% come playoff time as u pointed out. That should be a big advantage to us in the long run I'd think.

You don't sit them 2 weeks in a row. 1 at most.

Maybe you start letting some guys like scandrick rest.

If you are hurt you sit until you are well.

If you are a starter you play at least the first half.

If you are a backup get ready for extended playing time.

I think you need to play Romo and get him some significant game reps. At least in the last 2 weeks. Injured guys like Church and Caliborne can rest up.

We could clinch next week if Lions and Seahawks both lose and we beat the Giants, then there'd be 3 games left to go. The Seahawks are blowing out the Panthers right now but if they lose @Green Bay (which is not a guaranteed W) and the Lions lose at home vs Bears although that right there is unlikely.

Yeah I don't see neither one of those happening so it will likely be on 12.18
