Every off season there's talk of the cowboys needing to create money by restructuring contracts. These cap geniuses figure there's a way to make for example 66 million dollars if we do so, to sign FA and our own guys. But on the flip side, when have you ever seen the cowboys go all in like this.

At the most they'll do this to about 2-3 players contracts. Then there's times they'll do it when it's not expected, and we're getting happy as if it's being done to sign a player who just got released for whatever reason, and we never sign that player.

I'm all for creating space, but I don't want it to hurt us in the long run, and if you're going to do it, hell get a player that can help us get over this hump!! Please give your thoughts!!

Ain't no player getting our team over any hump.
This team needs an enema.
Top down.
Bottom's up!
Cause I know I need a drink.

Hopefully that was said in jest.

The way they structure contracts allows them to manipulate the cap. They try to move it around to where it hurts the least, helps the team the most short term, and the impact isn't all at once long term. But eventually it's paid for. But Jerry and or his son don't really go all in. They're very conservative, manage contracts and restructure at a basic level. I don't expect that to change this year.

Give up any hope that the two self-appointed bozos are going to outsmart the NFL after a quarter century of trying.

They can't do it. If they could they'd have done it already. Just enjoy the show, and laugh at their predictable failure.

This isn't what I thought I signed up for in the 70s, but it's all that's left of a once-proud franchise. Thanks, Jerry.

For those who still hold out hope for this front office, beyond my understanding, here's a song for you.

I love click bait it gets folks fired up then it becomes entertaining

Overpaying your own draftees unreasonable 2nd contracts while combining that with only lower tier Free Agents from other teams has proven to not be a winning formula.

Whatever it takes to change this process would be the answer imo.

This is the cycle yearly, "a player or two away" that has gone on for years, I really hate the restructure that some want to use it just keeps the team with cap problems and bloated salaries for players who don't live up to the contract. Not a winning formula with players like Jerry likes to pay. You are correct dump as much contract $$ into this year and look to the future next year.
