Return of the Dak

Way too early to write him off. He's got 33 games under him and this entire offseason to work on his craft. The offensive line is fixed, and Zeke is back.

Now, we will see.

I think you misread me..I like Dak, and his game..However his warts are the same ones we drafted. He needs to find what ever nuance, fear, leg massage that will fix a qb that has better accuracy on the run, as opposed to being in the pocket. WHEN a qb can chunk the rock on a dime 35 YARDS running the ball...Then melt in the pocket on five yard touch passes..Thats something upstairs. Those issues can and must be fixed..A solid lg will get most of that but due to it getting worse 2nd year....Need to get to coaching..

Yep and we've seen fire and we've seen rain with Dak and I like him and really want him to be the guy because I am not sure of this brain trust finding the franchise. These are the same people that tried to trade up for Lynch and wanted to pick Cook before settling on Dak.

My reservation with him is that the challenge he has is one I've rarely seen a QB overcome at this level, accuracy on a consistent basis. All of these guys can make all of the throws, sometimes. He had this problem in college and probably high school because it took an injury for him to get the QB1 job.

He will be missing his WR1 and TE and the DC's will load the game on him, even if they have to commit 9. I don't think his problem can be fixed as he's been working on that for a long time. It is up to his offensive coaching staff and HC to level the playing field. They failed him before but maybe Kellen Moore can be constructive for him?

No, The offensive line has a better prospect that is more talented.

HOPE fully this new oline coach can get him integrated quickly. That wont make the rbs, or Wrs better, It may make it easier to get the ball to them..As of right now 11 tds and 1300 yards walked out the door...Thats reality..

I agree, it's called a supporting cast. We had the best LT, RB, LB & kicker in the NFL missing games. I know no excuse, but it changed the offense significantly. And the LG was invisible and a new RT struggled at times.

You know its very ironic to me..Dak was one of the best with accuracy last year on balls thrown 30 or more I believe. I ALSO do not understand why people think a higher perc 10-15 yard pass is worse than a low per 30-40 yard pass..If i have rac guys running solid routes i can perform surgery, and idgas if my run game is on point as well..Play action is great, however it works fine when the offense is avg 5 yards on first down, no matter how many players in the box..So..

The idea of opening up the offense for long passes or relying on shorter passes is a mindset..Id rather have 10-15 play drives and run your defense into the ground in the first half..Than score in 3-5 play drives..The payoff is much better in the second half, And your offense gets to sit there, Watching the grind..

Nothing like the bewildered look of a defense that is so wore out from big fatties mauling them...Nothing.

I bet him first that if Dak was top ten this year he would leave the blog. He declined, then I suggested a sig bet and he didn't respond.

Don't converse with this guy, he's actually crazy

And lacks any semblance of intelligence.

I appreciate your cautious speculation on the current version of the Cowboys pre-training camp. Here's to unexpected surprises, my brother. I think the Cowboys are going to shock the world by being amazingly good.
I concur fellow Abilenian!

That was part of it, But specifically LG..And those players wont fix the issue, they will help..But accuracy on unpressured throws all on Dak!

i think the schedule could provide an advantage early. if the issues are resolved, some Tight end deviltry is,i stalled, and wr roles are defined quickly. YOU cant do away with passes to the TE coz Witten isnt here, And you better not run a Wr running the same X patterns as well.

IN fact a completely new set of Routes should be installed..To taylor to the offense, the team you playing, and to make dcords have to fing guess again..

I don't think it's as big an issue as others, JMO
