@xwalker did it seem to you that them getting punched square in the nose that at times they were pressing too hard to punch back? I haven’t rewatched the game but during they would shoot gaps to make a stop only for the back to go right by same with the dinking and dunking. It seemed to me that their discipline(assignments) went out the window and they were just trying to make plays in spite of their assignments. You’re more of a guru so that’s why I ask.

It may surprise a lot of fans but we really seem to struggle against good defenses on the road in hostile stadiums....... places like DEN, PHI, GB, MINN

I think this is where our lack of creativity, which we've had since Garrett first took charge of the offense, shows up.

Against most defenses in a friendly environment, you can win with a good offense just simply by executing the offense. Against a tough defense in a hostile environment, you need an edge.

This isn't unique to Dallas, though, as most offenses struggle against a difficult defense in a hostile environment, but the teams that elevate themselves still find a way to get it done. Of course, some of those teams have great defenses themselves where 17 points would have been enough for them to win.

Since we don't have a great defense, we have to rely on the offense to thrive even against great defenses in hostile environments.

I agree.

Usually I save practically every game win or lose to review. I even did that in 2015 with the poor play all around.

I immediately deleted this steaming heap off my DVR when it was over.

It was that bad of a dismantling, there is no sense to bother to go back and look for potential bright spots.

I watched the first quarter or so, left for church and then caught the ending after the weather delay, so I plan to go back and watch the whole thing soon. I just haven't had the heart to do it yet.

X I know it was a team loss but which squad laid the biggest turd

Offense.

The defense was expected to struggle early this season and they were down to their last 2 CBs and a Safety playing slot CB. The also have 2 defensive players suspended.

The offense also takes up 2x as much cap space as the defense.

The offense needs to improve, and for that to happen Dak has to take the next step as a QB and a big part of that is being able to play better consistently against elite defenses. Granted, that's no small task at all and even the great ones have poor games against some of the best Defenses this league has to offer at times but the great QBs also win their fair share of those games as well. Dak looked solid against that great NY Defense so that is certainly a start. You gotta make the great defenses respect the pass when they try to load up to stop the running game and that means you have to legitimately threaten the deep ball. I believe in Dak and I think he'll get significantly better against great defenses this year and he'll certainly have plenty of opportunities to prove it. Shoot, between Arizona, LA Rams, Philly twice, KC, Seattle, NY on the road, Green Bay is improved, Chargers are very underrated with Bosa and Ingram, Atlanta's D was hot in the postseason and they look to have a pretty good pass rush and added Takk Mckinnley.
We shall see, fellow Cowboy fans...

I rewatched myself and was even more impressed with DLaw the second time around.

I understand why you wouldn't want to watch it though.

That sack and forced fumble was a great play. Solid.
