RG3 bust potential

Those Skins fans are thrilled to have him. They think he's going to save their whole team. They will turn on him in a heartbeat if he doesn't live up to what they expect.

I like RG3. I hated seeing him go to the Skin.

He is going to be a nightmare to deal with in that Shanahan system. PA/keep game.

Shanahan's have a long history of adapting their system to their QB. Mcnabb had a big ego and thought he was still a mobile qb. Mike told Mcnabb why Andy got rid of him, and what he had to work on. Mcnabb didn't work to improve, he thought he was already a great QB. Two sides of the story.

Also, no one liked Mcnabb. Players were more upset when Grossman got benched, than they were when Mcnabb got benched.

Here are some examples of them adjusting to their QB (both mobile and non mobile): http://httr24-7.com/?p=368#more-368

Probably see a system close to what they ran with Plummer and Cutler.
They might even run the option. But they drafted him for his throwing ability. Throw first run second. Should be a great fit for the PA/Keep game/Zone stretch. Should be fun to watch, even if you aren't a skins fan.

One thing I've spotted, from all of those videos above, with their athletic strong arm QBs, they like to roll to one side, and go deep to the other.

Now, not all QBs can do that. I know Grossman can't, Beck couldn't (our linemen didn't like him, because they were constantly getting hit with balls).

But I seem to remember Mcnabb doing some of those things--rolling to the right, and then hitting Fred Davis on the far left side of the field etc...

Actually, when Mcnabb was in DC, there was a time when I was like "damn, I have NEVER seen the skins hit the deep ball like this". ...and I was right, I beleive he led the league in passes over 50+ yards (I am going off of memory here, but I know it was somewhere a long those lines).

Bad thing is, he wasn't very good in the short-medium passing game, and Grossman was better at moving the chains and getting first downs.
It would have been interesting to see Mcnabb with Helu (a running back we drafted a year later, who is a good pass catcher out of the backfield).

But man, Mcnabb could hit that deep ball:
