Richard Sherman said last wk that Pierre Garçon "doesn't matter" When asked if Dez Bryant matters he said "He does. He matters a great deal"

Sherman on Dez: "An incredible talent. Obviously his resume speaks for itself. He does a great job getting open, playin the ball in the air"

Pete Carroll on Dez: "He's got speed, great catching ability, range, but he's stronger than most guys, so guys kinda drip off of him"

Even if people thinks he's a tool, doesn't mean one wouldn't want him on the team. I wouldn't say he's a tool. Just mouths off, but is that cockiness or confidence.
on any other team = cocky, on the cowboys = confidence....LOL
We had Deion, so why not Sherman.

Agreed. I love Sherman. Some people just hate raw and true emotion and want to see the coached robotic players.
I don't think anything about him is raw or true. I think it's all calculated and superficial, that's what I can't stand.

Plus, he cares more about what other people think than any athlete ever should.

I don't know why people hate on Sherman so much, he always gives respect to players who have earned it. I became an instant fan of his when he destroyed Skip Bayless on his own show.

They hate on him because he makes them uncomfortable. They don't like his confidence. They don't like that he doesn't care that they don't like his confidence. And he's comfortable in his own skin. Plus he's a 4.0 student. I'm a big fan.

He's not a tool, but he is about himself, and he will say nice things about Dez until Dez does something to tick him off and he will flip on a dime. And no, the league would not be boring if they were all like Demarcus Ware, it would be full of the right kind of guys.

You are probably too young to remember, but there was a time when athletes prided themselves on being humble (I know, sounds like double talk, but it was true) and being about the team. Brash is actually something relatively new in American athletics. Kind of started with the Joe Namath era stuff (there have always been exceptions, like Babe Ruth, Ty Cobb, etc... but I'm talking what most characterizes an approach to athletics in any given era). So confidence is not the same as being brash. Confidence is not telling everyone how great you are. The most confident people in the world don't have to tell you, they just go do it and let you tell everyone afterward.

Dez is probably the most respected WR in the league, and I dont just mean by the praise he gets before games. Watch a Falcon or Bengal games, you rarely see Julio or Aj get blanketed to the same degree Dez gets, only healthy Calvin is close with the amount of detail opposing defenses give

He didn't destroy Skip Bayless. He kept saying abstract garbage like "I'm beating you at life" and refused to move on with an actual interview. In my eyes, he killed his own reputation with that nonsense, not Skip's. All he wanted was an argument, and when Skip said "ok fine, you win" he just kept rambling on and on. It was one of the dumbest, least mature things I've ever seen in a sports interview.

That, in a nutshell, was the epitome of why I'm not a Sherman fan.

Yep...he told Bayless straight up: "I'm better than YOU"! Funny as hell that interview. Cuban and Suggs gave him hell as well. What a buffoon that Bayless fella, but they like that...he's controversial, trashy and good for viewership. I love when his arse gets owned! Sherman is a VERY confident young man and you will always know what he thinks.
