Guys, even if he is pre-designated per the rule change it's at least 8 weeks. It was to the end of regular season before. I was soooooo. looking forward to putting this up the the game day threads...lol..

Said it weeks ago that I'd stash him on IR the whole year. He won't make it thru waivers and won't play barring injury to the three guys ahead of him. Sucks for him but best move for the team

i think the FO was looking for a way to keep Rico, Cooper Rush, and Noah Brown.. and this is definitely a way to do it

i would IR Rico to stash him, let him go through another offseason, develop, etc. and unleash him next year

Exactly. I called this move the other day. Rush or Moore will be the next one. Rush could benefit the most by spending the season in the film room, but Moore just doesn't seem to me he could carry the team.

With the suspensions, I honestly don't think it is that hard to keep all three.

Maybe Rico got cold feet after the concussion and they are trying to ease his mind.

The big danger with any athlete converting to football from another sport is when they get their bell rung for the first time. High percentage never return or become visibly nervous on the field. Seen it a number of times - convert looking great then takes a bit hit and is never the same.

what? Man if he can play we need him out there THIS year getting reps and getting better. We do not have the luxury of letting able bodied guys sit out the season.

We just can't catch a break this preseason with the young guys............ Gathers, Switzer, Awuzie, Lewis................ all guys who were being counted on to contribute and none are close to being ready at this point.

Some concussions keep players in bed and dark rooms for weeks. Not all concussions are the same.

Maybe the Patriots can fake IR but the Cowboys can't fake IR.

The doctors will be the ones who will clear or not clear him from the concussion protocol by the start of the season.
