Rico's catch

I think he looks slower than he actually is because of his size and way he runs.

Yeah, like Beasley. Beasley looks like a speed demon because of his size. Rico looks like he is running in quicksand, even if he is fast for his size. But then again... How fast do people think a guy like that is going to run? I mean Gronk ain't exactly a speed demon either at his size. But those guys can block out sunlight on these small DBs.

Gronk has WR speed for his size, Gathers is weird because he was a basketball player but has horrible speed and athleticism. 6'8 and 270 means he's a freight train to bring down, though.

Yeah Gronk though was like 4.68, and Rico 4.75 in the 40... that is a pretty small margin when you get up in that range. Rico being a good bit thicker then Gronk.

But, I think Gronk probably got a lot faster since those times. Maybe not though, with his injury history. I would imagine Rico got faster since that time though.

Pretty much the only guy we can throw a fade to other than Gallup.

I have feeling we'll hear from Butler at some point

as for Rico, if he can get a Y pattern down ... that's most of the battle

You can tell the speed difference just looking at Gronk's stats. Rico you can tell because he can't run away from anybody.

Witten ran a 4.7 40 coming out of the draft and Rico ran a 4.75 40, so Witten didn’t beat anyone in a foot race either. The difference is that Rico weighs more than our starting guard (Conner Williams).

He doesn’t need to burn anyone. He needs to use those enormous hands of his that made him a college basketball phenom and move the chains on third down, dolling out punishment to anyone who wants to tackle his 290 pound frame.

He did just that on his catch today.

More Rico, please!!

I was actually excited that they didn't get shut out on catches against Jacksonville. Rico is a way better Receiver then Swaim. Rico is the kind of te you can lay it up to him at full accecleration and let him go after it. He needs to be moving forward or cutting across when he catches the ball. Not coming back for it per say. He's so big he gets instant separation when he goes up for the ball. Swaim is catching some 10 yard passes this week for a first down which is a plus but I still think we should be rotating these guys instead of adding alot of two te sets. Keep the offensive firepower and tempo up at times in the 11 personel groupings. We got a sample of each of these guys working in tandem w 1 -2 catches but we need a few drives in the red zone for Rico without swaim out there to see if he's gonna be a scoring threat. Rico can line up anywhere on the field from the red zone. He definitely not fast but he's so big you can put the ball in places when he's on the move where he's the only one that can make a play on it

Rico might be fool's gold. Or he might be that kind of player who gets better and better the more you use him until he actually becomes an impact player. I bet they're going to find out here.

It's good to see Swaim delivering on his opportunities. Wish Jarwin would do the same.

We know 2 positive things about Rico..

1. He is incredibly tough to bring down.

2. He can bring down a football in traffic.

Rico has real potential and the coaches are fools for limiting it.

Also, we were told Rico can't block and that has been so far from the truth. Especially compared to how poor of a blocker Swaim has been this season.

Jarwin should never see a play over Rico. Nothing good happens when Jarwin is tossed the football.

I know it was just one play, but just like last week, it was a big play that we need to see more of. With Swaim's emergence, adding Rico as a weapon would make the TE position go from a weakness to a strength. If we can't make Rico a red zone threat, then make him a chain mover. I know he's green, but he's like a big bull out there catching the ball.
Rico was wide open on what should have been. 40 yard td But dak never looked at him.

I do not understand why we don’t put rico in when we are down inside the ten.
