good point, I was saying in game thread they should put rush or white in at start of 4th and let him throw the ball , lets see
what he can do in a real game.
put rod smith in , take beasely out next man up, let Rico get some more targets,it was a golden opportunity to play the bkups, but they wasted it and
risked injury to the starters.
most teams though do the same crap.

I didn't get to watch much of the game but from what i saw & the highlights, I think all the TE's did their job blocking on several of the big plays. Can't speak to the catching but I think the "can't block" narrative is no longer true, if it ever was.

the issue with him wasn't blocking, it was knowing his assignment and who to block. I think the coaches also simplified it for him so he doesn't have to make a decision who to pick up.

I know it was just one play, but just like last week, it was a big play that we need to see more of. With Swaim's emergence, adding Rico as a weapon would make the TE position go from a weakness to a strength. If we can't make Rico a red zone threat, then make him a chain mover. I know he's green, but he's like a big bull out there catching the ball.

For sure, he's a red zone thread. Anything more than that will need some polishing but any port in a storm right

I do not understand why we don’t put rico in when we are down inside the ten.

Why do we need a deep threat or red zone te like Rico when we can throw 3 Yard check downs to swaim and he can run over peeps and break tackles and score every game like the great hof #82.

I can tell people do not watch the game inline very well. He has thrown a few very good blocks and what I have not been hearing is comppaints about him missing blocks - cause he hasnt been.

Jarwin's snaps shouldve been going to Rico all along. All this talk about Rico not knowing what to do at times may have some validity, but is silly when you compare him to Jarwin who seemingly is incapable of physically doing anything well. Cant block a sun ray and has very little instincts as a receiver. Feels like the staff is forcing this Jarwin deal hoping he magically improves one day.

I think the point is let’s get him involved so we can really see what he has
He’s still got lots to prove but can’t prove much without reps

He is doing both gap and ZBS inline. He is limited in what packages he does but what he does know he does well.

LOL sounds apropos for this organization. A team flush with 80-90 million in cap space looking to save MAYBE 3-4 million on a young solid player in favor of a cheaper option who can't play a lick.
