Riding on the Romocoaster

I've come to the realization that Tony is like riding a roller coaster.

He's going to hit some pretty high spots and he's going to hit some pretty low spots. He's going to throw us for a few loops and he's going take us on a few white knuckle turns where we just have to close our eyes and hold on for dear life.

He's going to give us that sick feeling in our gut as we plummet down some pretty steep tracks with a hairpin turn looming in the distance.

He's going to give us that uneasy feeling as we're strapped in the coaster going up that first steep climb.

He's going to give us that disorientated feeling of "What just happened?" when you come out of the corkscrew.

He's going to give us that feeling where the ride comes to an abrupt stop at the end and your head snaps forward, or that great feeling as the ride glides smoothly back to the platform.

I'll be the first to admit that I've jumped off the Romocoaster a few times, only to get right back on. Maybe it's the thrill of the ride that keeps me going back. Maybe it's the realization that no matter how scary or bumpy this ride is, it still beats riding the Merry-go-round.

You know, it was just so interesting to me that a ride could make me so frightened, so scared, so sick, so excited, and so thrilled all together!

Some didn't like it.

They went on the merry-go-round.

That just goes around.

Nothing.

I like the roller coaster. You get more out of it.

Sounds like you are describing just about every QB who has ever played the game.

Yeah but not every QB is *OUR* QB. When it's our QB, the highs are higher and the lows are lower.

I think the more experience Romo gets the better he will be. Romo is constantly trying improving himself as a player. I think as time goes on the ups and downs will be less.

The Romocoaster seems to be just fine recently. We couldn't ask for better play from him. If he throws for 1 or 2 Td's with no picks, we easily win on Sunday night.

And when it's Romo, the highs are much more frequent than they are for most QBs.

Really 1 bad game out of 7 if you ask me!

Could he have been better at Denver - sure but I don't think it was a "bad" game

Love that line and the fact she got into the wrong car after saying it.

As for Romo, if you look at his career game by game, the truly bad outings are few and far between, he is very good most of the time.

Ah. Another 'my bad' thread. This one about the 'roller coaster' of a ride from the QB of a 5-2 team that lost two close games to contenders.

Maybe it's not the QB that's taking you on a roller coaster after all. Maybe it's just your expectations and your own emotions that swing wildly back and forth for very little reason? It's so hard to say.

I don't feel that way at all about Tony, never have.

People, or better yet, Cowboy fans are way too critical of him.

He's not perfect, but what QB's are?

The easy solution for the Romocoaster is to get on the Jamarcus-coaster instead. It's kind of like a kiddie train deep down in valley.

"Romocoaster" is just a way for fans to jump back on the wagon after they've jumped off and bashed him. It's a cutsie wootsie way of saying, "I was wrong and I admit it". LOL

Romo needs to kick those fans to the crub like Jessica Simpson. :laugh2:

Kurt Warner will probably be in the Hall of Fame and he just threw 5 picks in a game. Payton Manning threw 3-4 in one game vs SD last year.

I don't mind if Romo has ups and downs as long as the overall trend is up.

Most of them have around the same football IQ. :laugh2:

Did anyone happen to notice during last nights Saints game, they were showing graphics of QB stats since '06 I believe, .. showing how good Brees has been.

Every graphic they showed, .. whether it was wins, or yardage, or TD passes, or INT's (I can't remember which ones it was) Romo was one of the other top QB's in the category they were showing about Brees.

If someone Tivo'ed the game or something, I would love to see exactly what they were showing, because I was flipping the split screen to watch the WS too.

Can someone go back and find that out?

It showed me that Romo is right up there in everything but playoffs wins. When those come, and they will, he will get his due as one of the best QB's playing right now.

JMO.
