I think I can speak for all of us in breathing a big sigh of relief that Aikman and Wright are now in the HOF with several more probably coming in the next several years..

..which should end the whispers of Cowboy Bias..for now.

But when I see these players being enshrined or soon to be for the Cowboys..it speaks of teams past and fading.

My question is..who on our present team is HOF material..?

Being a 45+ year fan of the team, I've seen along with many of you, lists of great players on our teams and they are often a measure of their team's success.

But the HOF only calls the best of the best.

So who on our team right now is HOF material..?

The best teams always have a handful of great players who have proven season in and season out that they are the nucleus of the team and deserving for consideration and ultimately, possible induction.

And as I look at this team, we've got several to be considered.

Who are they..?

Who's a lock..?

Who's conditional..?

Who's got the most potential if they aren't yet..?

I ask these questions because our team really doesn't have a chance for greatness unless we have some of these guys either at the playing and/or coaching levels...or even ownership, too.

I have my choices, but I'm interested more in everybody elses's view.

And I'll also throw in who out there as former Cowboy players or coaches no longer directly associated with our team still has a decent chance to be voted in..?

I'm interested in this because I really beleive that there are many still to come and many still deserving that hasn't. And I'm interested in how many we have potentially and if there is consensus at all,

And I also think that part of the BP legacy with this team is that if he can regain the magic in Dallas as he has elsewhere, he'll go along way to ensuring the Dallas franchise of more HOF inductees down the road for all eligible players in the future by bring us back to the top and in the limelight.

This is very important to us all as fans. And BP is in charge of this task amongst his other duties...hehee.

Ok..your turns..

I'd love like to see your choices and why and where you rate them as to ultimately being HOF.

And my congrats to Troy and the Big Cat for making it. Great day for the team and the fans, with more to come I hope.

Larry Allen is a lock.

Bledsoe is a possibility if he has 3 more good years OR wins a Super Bowl.

Glover is a slim, slim possibility, and only as a seniors committee nominee type.

Keyshawn, Glenn, Rivera ain't going.

Of the young guys, I'd say the best odds are Roy Williams and Jason Witten.

DeMarcus Ware has a good chance if he can stay healthy over his career.

Julius Jones, even if he returns to the form of his rookie year, still doesn't look like a player who can withstand the NFL beating, so he probably won't have a Hall of Fame career.

If Chris Canty and Marcus Spears turn out to be career Pro Bowlers, they still won't have impressive numbers until we go back to a 4-3, so they aren't going. Newman entered the NFL too late in his career and he still can't get any love. Too little, too late for him unless he suddenly becomes Deion-esque.

I agree with Larry Allen first;
On our team now, I would say, Bledsoe if he wins a super bowl
2nd Keyshawn Johnson, especially if wins a super bowl, that will be 2 he was in
3rd. Jason Witten, maybe- got to remember he will be in contention with Shockey
4th. Demarcus Ware-I think in time, he will be great
5th Maybe Terrance Newman, think he is coming into his own, if he can win 2-3 superbowls with cowboys
6th Glover, but only as senior committee
7th. Roy Williams, but only if cowboys go to super bowls, have tobe more than 1 though, his liablity shows up too much in pass coverage
8th. One player you guys might be overlooking is Marco Riveria, was a probowler-but only as senior committte voting, and if cowboys win SB
9th Either Marcus Spears or Chris Canty-Canty has been likened to LeonLett
10th-Emmitt Smith will be
11th-Cliff Harris might later again but probably not
12th Daryl Johnston might, but only at end of his career broadcasting

Darren Woodson should go in and may have to on the Vet but he was a great safety for a long time and has some bling to show for it to

Jeez..

I thought that was obvious..the one with the biggest grin.

;-)))

I had been working on the crew doing the video shoot running a 4th camera handheld and also done stills for the jacket of the VHS (yes, that long ago, folks. No DVD yet)

I really had a blast running around with them at Disney World over the 3 days they were there doing the shoot and the cheerleader on my right was the dance leader on the video and very nice.

This was right after the Cowboys had won their Back-to-Back SB's..Febuary of '94. Also met Jerry Jones and Deion Sanders, both of whom flew out to Florida on the last day to watch the video production.

I was in Cowboy heaven. Yes..the big grin.

Did Deion say he would go in as a Falcon? Ultimately, he should go in as a Falcon (where he made a name for himself), but his relationship with the Cowboys is well-documented. We can consider him just like Ditka I guess.

The NFL Hall is not like the Baseball Hall you get a plaque and it list all the teams you played for not like baseball where they put a cap on the bust with a team logo

Despite his high numbers, Bledsoe won't make the HOF w/o a SB win with Cowboys. Has knocks against him because of perception he"s "a statue and needs lot of OL projection" and he hasn't won the big one.
