i think he will start and help on short yardage runs. everything else and Free should play...

May be an advantage due to recent struggles with short yardage, and Free needs to rest after running 50 yards to get that last block for Felix to score! Both studs in different ways.!

Maybe Wade wants Free as a fullback to open lanes for Jones... :D

I hate the idea of "oh we'll start Colombo and if he looks rusty, we'll put in Free." THIS IS THE NFL PLAYOFFS. Each and every DRIVE is essential because you win or go home. You can't play with 2 or 3 drives and HOPE Colombo is back to his old self. Stay with the good thing, keep Colombo active incase something happens. If it ain't broke, don't fix it.

What a great problem to have...Last year or any year before that we would have been begging to have anyone but Proctor

It's a tricky situation, all around. A textbook example of a nice problem to have, but still a problem.

As you say, it is PLAYOFFS and the worst place to make changes on a team is on the OLINE. They can rest Free after some other 50 yards run... if they want...

I think Colombo will offer a huge boost. Consider that McQuistan is all we've had behind Adams and Free and you'll get some idea of how lucky we've been since the GB game.

As much as I like Free, Colombo is much better in the run game. He won't be 40 yards downfield blocking a DB, but he'll give the Eagles a lot of reason to be concerned, and we might just convert in short yardage.

Sticking Columbo in therefor this playoff game is going to have the same effect on the O-Line that D-Ware coming back to the defense after his neck injury had. If Columbo is having any kind of trouble, then the coaches will put Free back in there, but Marc has been a warrior for us since he got here and he deserves to be out there if he's healthy.

I think you have to put Columbo back into the lineup.Especially if the coaches have said that a starter will not lose his spot due to injury. If you start telling guys that they won't lose their spot due to injury and then don't follow up on that message coaches can lose some players like that.

I also think that Columbo sees the bigger picture and will take himself out of the game if he's hurting their chances of winning the ballgame(JMO).

Getting Colombo back is a good thing.

You believe in Columbo and that's allright, but to compare the change with ware coming back??? c'mon

I like Marc, but in football, No, you don't deserve to play by what you've done but what you can do.now... and I don't think Columbo back from injury is better than Free for that game. I would be glad to be wrong.

I don't mean it's the same situation as Ware, as obviously it's very different. However, the other guys on the O-Line are going to be pumped to have their teammate they've been playing alongside back in action.

The coaches obviously think that a healthy Columbo gives us a better chance to win.

I just have my doubts about this coaching staff who kept Miles Austin on the bench and Mike Jenkins rotating with Orlando Scandrick at starter.

The more I think about, the more I want Colombo starting. We want to win at the point of attack against Philly and that's what Colombo brings. Eagles are undersized on the line, got beat up last week, and now a fresh Colombo is coming in at RT to rip some heads off.

Free is great as well. I just like the matchup with Colombo at RT. Free can always sub in if Marc isn't looking so hot.

Difference is that Colombo has proven himself over the last 4 years. So they will start him and if he does not look like he can get it done they will pull him quick. This is NOT a problem. Stop trying to make it one.

We just have a doubt on the decision but we can't tell cause you say so?
If having different point de vue is making a problem I guess I can feel at home on this board.

I hope Colombo does come in and prove he's an upgrade at this point.
But ... I cringe at tinkering with things that upset chemistry, especially in the playoffs.
You say he's been here several years, so it helps chemistry ... decent point, he is comfortable alongside Davis ... when he's healthy.
If this team is going to make a championship run, I contend its trial by fire was the last stretch of the season, fighting through the "December slump" predictions and shaking off the Giants and Chargers losses to really end in a groove.
Colombo was not a part of that bonding process, didn't play a single snap during the stretch run that got them here.
I can't get in these guys' heads, and they're the pros. But for Free to prepare all week as a sub (I'm assuming Colombo has taken nearly all the first-team reps) and then potentially be thrown into a playoff game ... against the attacking Eagles ... when there's obviously been a problem at RT with Colombo (injury or leaking) ... that's asking a lot, in my opinion.

Columbo has been the starter for 3 or 4 years why would it throw off the chemistry? If he's 100% it should help the chemistry.
