Drew Pearson for sure. Harvey Martin is a no brainer as well.

Jimmy Johnson is a slam dunk. Not a Cowboy long enough???? The 90's 3 time SB winning champions PERSONIFIED Jimmy Johnson's attitude and swagger.

Jones needs to put Drew in the Ring of Honor, otherwise the HOF will wonder why should we put him in the HOF when his team doesn't even acknowledge him in the ROH. I still can't believe Drew is not in the HOF. If they can elect Lynn Swann with the numbers he posted, than for sure Drew belongs in there. I know Swann only made it because he helped the STEALERS win 4 Super Bowls, but Drew deserves to be a member of the HOF. Drew played 11 seasons, while Lynn played 9 seasons.

Drew's stats:
489 receptions; 7,822 receiving yards, and 48 touchdowns.
Postseason: 67 receptions; 1,105 receiving yards, and 8 touchdowns.

Lynn's stats:
336 receptions; 5,462 receiving yards, and 51 touchdowns.
Postseason: 48 receptions, 907 receiving yards, and 9 touchdowns.

I will probably be laughed off of here, but one of my favorites to watch during the 70's and I think way underrated was Ed "Too Tall" Jones. I don't think Randy White would have achieved half the accolades he received if it hadn't been for the double and triple teams Too Tall got. I wish some one would go back and count all the passes he knocked down. I still think he would have the record today for blocked passes if they had kept that stat. No team would attempt to pass to their right because of the force he exerted as the DE. He deserves a lot more recognition than he has received, even if he sat out one year to try boxing.

another thread got me to thinking....I know its probably been brought up before ...but....if you could suggest to Jerry 3 guys to go into the ROH who would you suggest...?

mine would be....

1) Drew Pearson
2) Larry Allen
3) Charlie Waters

4) Harvey Martin
5) Darren Woodson
6) Jimmy Johnson

All of these guys need to be in the Ring over the next few years. There are others where a good argument can be made also.

Drew's exclusion continues to be a joke wrapped in a travesty. Spite is the only logical explanation.

I'd like to see some of the deserving older generation inducted before their contributions are completely forgotten. Drew Pearson is still remembered, but the memory of a few other greats is beginning to fade. So my three are:

1. Drew Pearson
2. John Niland (Our great linemen have especially been neglected)
3. Cornell Green

I agree. Green and Niland were a big part of the teams that started the winning tradition.

Too Tall gained more by Having Randy next to him then the other way around. BUT I do agree he belongs in the RIng.

Cornell Green and Drew Pearson should be the next two in. FOllowed by some of our linemen who have indeed not gotten enough attention.
Rayfield Wright is already on it- is he not the only OL there?

Rayfield is the only OL in the Ring. I'm sure Larry Allen will be put in there.

John Niland played for us 9 years and was in the Pro Bowl 6 of those and was named 1st team All-Pro twice. Back then the Pro Bowl votes were from opposing players and I believe meant more than they do now.

Rayfield was a 6 time Pro Bowler and 3 time 1st team All-Pro.

Any Pro Bowl BEFORE the fans voted was much more relevant then what we have now.
So those Pro Bowls and ALL Pros mean MUCH more then they do now.

Jerry tends to overlook the Cowboys of yesteryear and favor those that have played since he took ownership. That is only natural, I guess. I think Jerry should look at all of the players that came before his ownership and place all of those that are deserving in the Ring at one ceremony. I know it would seem like he was diluting the "worthiness" of the Ring, but he would make a lot of us old farts happy and could then concentrate on "his players" without us chiding him every time he puts one of his players in over some of the old guys. I fear many deserving players will never make it because Jerry really didn't see them play.

wrong.............Jerry has put in 8 guys from the teams of yesteryear (Jordan, Landry, Dorsett, White,Tex, Hayes, Harris, and Wright) compared to only 3 players from his teams (Emmitt,Troy and Mike)

Darren Woodson and Larry Allen will definitely make it. I used to love watching Larry on Sundays, especially when he would go up against the best DT at the time. He would manhandle them. He will go down as one of the best offensive linemen to ever play the game, but he was actually the best. He was the best guard when he played that position and the best left tackle when he was moved there. Unbelieveable player. He would just crush people.

Valid point...let me rephrase: He should put more in than he has. There are some LEGENDARY players that have yet to be enshrined. After all these years, they should be there. The more time passes, the less likely they will get their due. I'm just saying for Jerry's sake (so some of us will quit our *****in'), have one mass induction ceremony and move forward.

Until Drew gets in, we really shouldn't be considering anyone else.

I'd also like to thank the board for not bringing David Buehler into this discussion yet as part of that unfunny joke that follows us into every thread.
