And how far is that? 13-3 in 2016, last year no Elliot for 6 games, 40% of the o-line shuffled, T. Smith out a couple of games and sub-par most of the rest, 3 new secondary starters, Irving suspended as well. Lee out a couple of games and J. Smith still green and still recovering from the knee injury.

Yes, we're still stuck with Garrett, Linehan and Marinelli, but this team isn't the Browns or the Jets or the Bears, et al.

Cowboys aren't that far out of SB contention, with a couple of good draft picks and another year of camp and pre-season for the newer players, this team can make noise in the next year.

Lol, "all the doom and gloom". Far from it. Right now the Boys are a team full of talent, but not a talented team. Every season there will be adversity. Thats guaranteed.

I don't see the right pieces in the most critical places for this team to "win" a Super Bowl. Doesn't mean they won't win another, I just don't see it anytime soon. Only been watching this team since 77', so Im hoping in the next 40yrs they'll make the necessary changes....

I agree the roster is not that far from contending but the front office and coaching give us no chance . The FO dosent get us the FAs to take us over the top and lets Jerry Gamble our second round pick continually . The coaching is just flat out not up to SB standards . They make no one better and cant close out playoff games .

Well, actually you basically are the Browns and the Jets. The Bears? Not so much. They actually contended this century. As long as Jerry is the football brains and Garrett walks the sideline you will suck. May he live to be 150 years old!
