from what i understand, he goes in for a checkup recently, gets told some really bad news and a short time later, gone.
So sad to see this, he was one of my favorites and this song is a top 10 of mine all time. I had the pleasure to bring him to perform at the Boise River Festival in 1994 and he brought his wife and child along and we gave them the tour and they were really nice people. I told him that he had the honor of having one of my all time top 10's and was "Trinidad" on the set list and he said it was. Before he played it, he thanked me for bringing them in and dedicated the song to me. Gotta tell ya, when they played that, I teared up, can you imagine having one of your all time top 10's dedicated to you? I just had to break into a little air guitar for the outro.
I was wondering what I might be doing this evening and I can wonder no more. Man, this is getting tough spending an evening listening to some of my favorites after they've passed. Might have to make it the entire weekend as I did for Tom Petty.
Yup. Gets told he has stage 4 esophageal cancer that has spread.
Sucks. It's such an aggressive cancer too that can go undetected till it's almost too late.
By the time you have symptoms it's already advanced most of the time.
It's coming for us all folks. That's the sad truth of it.
No one here gets out alive. Jim Morrison...
He was telling the truth.....
Just watched the new episode of Real Money last night, they had gotten a second opinion who said he had about a year w/o treatment. Although I don't know when it was actually recorded he didn't look very well at all. So very sad, he had a huge family. Prayers.
Definitely a fan. saw him last a couple years ago in Greensboro NC at a free street festival. He hated every bit of being there and he was awful. Felt sorry for him.
Wow! RIP! I remember seeing him once live. Superb performer. And I've heard from a band (Air Supply) that I'm acquaintances with that told me he was a very nice guy.
TMZ claims there was complications from his heart valve surgery from months back.
9:47 AM PT -- A source close to Eddie tells us the singer died from complications associated with his heart valve procedure from a few months ago.
He was very underrated but spurned out great hits. May he RIP!
* I read that book*
...I liked Mr. Money...I'll still remember his many hits!...
A staple on MTV...
Sorry to hear of this.
Anything about the Lizard king man. Anything.
